My wife has an MP3 player that is not an IPOD. What type of hookups are out there from Honda. Would it be just a connection to the AUX input? If so, which connector do I install, I don't need it to be controlled from the radio.
Thanks

Great info:
How about the MP3/Aux input available on Hondas with NAV. Is this available for non NAVs?
Just price comparing..

I have a RTL s/r xm no navi. I went to the dealership, bought the 2 port bus Y cable ($15) and it worked like a charm. Was able to keep XM, cd changer, and use USA Spec Ipod adapter (PA11-HON2) and it works like a charm.

No. You would have to add an aftermarket Aux Input.
Juan, to get the best help you need to be very specific about your Ridgeline model.
The best solution is different for almost every model.
If you DO have XM and want to add a NON-iPod device, I think the best way to go is the PIE X3 ($52) plus PIE X3-HON03 2003-Up Honda T-Harness for X3 ($26).
If you DO NOT have XM and want to add a NON-iPod device, I think the best way to go is the Soundgate HON03/PC-SON 2003-06 Honda Changer Interface/Auxiliary Adapter ($92).
For people not installing iPods, there is no need to pay for the extra cost of iPod control.

Hi,
can you tell me where you connected the "Y" cable. Back of the headunit I suppose? If so, how hard was it to pull the dash? TIA.

:)In case you have not yet purchased a "Y" cable, you probably do not need one. The newer devices include a plug that eliminates the need for the "Y" adapter.

Has any one done this? I need some install hints. Any pictures of the X3 selector install? Also where did you purchase the PIE items?

Note that one downside of the PIE X3 is that the XM info may still be displayed on the OEM HU screen (even though you are listening to a different audio source.)
