On my 06 RTL with nav the transmission will not stay in 5th gear it jumps out of 5th and in to 4th. Anyone else having problem? Dealer says there is nothing wrong and mine is the only one doing it. Thanks

Please elaborate on your description. Does it downshift from fifth to fourth when going uphill and then upshift after the hill. Or does it stay in fourth after downshifting and refuses to upshift? How fast are you going; are you accellerating to pass someone?

It could be the same problem that the tranny TSB covers.

Could be, but more details are needed to determine this.

And perhaps we're not use to the grade logic transmission... Just a thought...

Maybe you need TSB 06-062 performed?

It corrects some shifting issues......

Four transmission failures is certainly unusual. Were they internal mechanical failures or TCU problems? Did the dealer warranty all four?

Dealer says yours is the only one doing it. They know there is a problem, so they will fix it under warranty. Please post back and tell us if the dealer fixed it properly or not. Also, let us know what they did to fix this problem. Don't be like some people who post once and then never post again, leaving the rest of us hanging -- wondering what happened. I need closure.

Dealer says there is nothing wrong and(?) mine is the only one doing it.

ummmm... dunno 'bout you but, if your's is the only one doing it, I'd say that would mean that something IS wrong.

And... even if your's wasn't the ONLY one doing it... well... you get the picture.

Mine locks in lower gear a lot after passing or a hard acceleration.

Get the TSB on the transmission performed and all will be better.

Thanks Mike, it goes in again on the 13th. Maybe that will solve my accelerator problem too. I'll keep my fingures crossed.

Im a little late on this message. Felt there may be something wrong ( or different) with mine as well. I sometimes get almost a lag in power when I slow down to around 10 km/hr and then go to accelerate. After about 2 seconds of pressing the accelerator the truck will sometimes jerk forward. Doesn't happen all the time.

Also at highway speeds 80km/hr (approx. 1500 rpms), When I press the accelerator, it appears to always have to gear down to 4th to get any more speed out of it on very little incline. I have a Civic DX which will pick up faster than the ridgeline in 5th gear. Now when the ridgeline gears down, It really picks up. The first vehicle ive had that does this. If reprogramming is the answer, is it an expensive fix? as I do not have a warranty.

Thanks

Is there anyone living in Canada, namely BC., that has had the TSB done to their Ridgeline? Are dealers here in Can. doing it without hesitation?

Is the TSB that we are talking about 06-062? Mine is obviously producing the symptoms of many others that have had this done.
Anyone out there?
