(interested) Me too. (missed Santa Cruz) kanji 10-13-2006, 11:42 PM i heard from 5sdude, there's in the works for an SD meet and the other areas will be moving up north to near West Hills. Any meet in in SoCal is good for me. Toobuku 10-14-2006, 11:46 AM You know I'm down! :D C25A1guy 10-17-2006, 11:16 AM I was thinking of maybe Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale. I think its $5 to get in and it's in and out pass. Plus lots of recreational stuff to do there. BBQ (my fav), nature hikes, fishing (with permit, right now I think its catfish and trout maybe?), boat rental, blah blah blah blah blah. Other then that, I dunno as far as location goes for logistics reasons. 5S Dude 10-17-2006, 12:17 PM Get ur going C25A1guy, Set a time & date. I'll be there! daskraut 10-20-2006, 09:20 PM If it is on a sunday, count us in. DK Twintym 10-20-2006, 09:23 PM Always interested in meeting up with my ROC buddies. :D djeaux 10-21-2006, 08:21 PM Oops... Wrong "LA"... We're having a mini-meet next weekend in Abita Springs, LA. (And around here, "LA" also means "Lower Alabama" aka "the Redneck Riviera"...) :D rei06 10-31-2006, 10:48 PM I was thinking of maybe Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale. IMDOWN FOR THIS MEET IN IRWINDALE streetwerkzclothing 10-31-2006, 10:53 PM we are possibly having a SO CAL dyno day... about 6 ridgeline members have showed interest. we are dynoing different intakes on the market, to see the ACTUAL gains. kanji 11-01-2006, 12:38 AM where, when, who, with, & what? accordingtoome 11-01-2006, 01:25 AM Just wondering since I missed cal roc meet. Just testing the waters to see who would in interested. count me in.. i used to set up a lot of RSX meets in Torrance and they always seemed to work out pretty good. :D C25A1guy 11-14-2006, 11:28 AM we are possibly having a SO CAL dyno day... about 6 ridgeline members have showed interest. we are dynoing different intakes on the market, to see the ACTUAL gains. If that's the case, maybe dyno and a BBQ or restraunt dealybob? But then I need to find a place w/ a 4WD dyno. *goes and makes a call to Shawn Church and Eric Hsu* waders 11-14-2006, 03:39 PM Not interested in the Dyno but Santa Fe Dam is fine and easy to get to. (This is now where the Renaissance Pleasure Faire went to for those of you in San Bernardino County were wondering). Sat or Sun is fine - it just depends on which date. zeroagenow 11-14-2006, 07:28 PM 16210i figured i would show this pic to you fellow southern california ridgers first, whatcha think? kanji 11-19-2006, 02:51 PM Damn...that look sick...like the honda grill, i'm not much into the hood vents, but it does look good. Does the ports go through the hood to let fresh air in? I'm still good for a meet Saturday BBQ, Sunday is good too but for some, it may be a trek to get there. For some that live north West side of LA county. zeroagenow 11-19-2006, 03:05 PM the hood vents might go through to the engine compartment if any of it was real, were the vents real on the old mustang mach1? thats where i got them from, same with the honeycomb grill. badge was made with pc from ridge badge. accordingtoome 11-20-2006, 07:28 AM update on the meet? lsd motorsports 12-24-2006, 09:57 PM the hood vents might go through to the engine compartment if any of it was real, were the vents real on the old mustang mach1? thats where i got them from, same with the honeycomb grill. badge was made with pc from ridge badge. Definately a unique Ridge, i like the grill but id have to see that hood in person. WE all can gather together. also, see who's bringing what to this meet and greet. Good location is also a must for better relaxation and lots of fun things to do for everyone. meanmachine19 10-09-2007, 09:12 AM i just wanted to bring this old thread back :D :D Why? I was getting all excited and then realized it was an old thread...:( If it doesn't happen, then..... there's a Phoenix meet on Nov. 3rd for those that want to take a little road trip from So Cal! :D accordingtoome 10-10-2007, 08:45 PM ya what happened to everyone? that OC meet looked really cool. to bad i missed it. anyone? kanji 10-10-2007, 10:15 PM someone needs to set it up and find a location where everyone can agree on, the Santa Cruz meet is done, there's nothing planned in the near future. Pick a place and date for everyone to meet and have a pot luck. Post it and pretty sure everyone will respond. PODO 10-22-2007, 05:05 PM Is the meet still pushing through? Or is it too late...damn. Dana point would be a good area to do a future meet. The area where the old ship sits. We can do some BBQ-ing, wading on the beach and a lot more. I used to bring my RC Boat there just to get all the attention from kids LOL. A lot of exposure there for the club too as a lot of people drive around that area. The Castaway restaurant on top of burbank would also be a good get-to-know place as well. kanji 10-23-2007, 01:05 AM Is the meet still pushing through? Or is it too late...damn. Set something up and PODO or i think someone is on the planning commitee (thinking about something) it seems like everyone's busy doing something and someone may need to set something, to get things rolling, i'm pretty sure if something is set up by someone everyone will chime in to get together. Just make sure if you do decide to set something up, you or someone let everyone know far in advance to reserved that day or weeked off. :D Ps. i thing some of the SoCal's are taking turns ;;) PODO 10-23-2007, 11:59 AM Yeah anthony it's the busy season alright. So it might be appropriate to just have a quick meet I guess on one of these weekends, just a few hours would do and let's just plan something bigger after. We can plan this little get together maybe after the firestorm has passed. Hopefully by the end of November or early December we can have this small meet. Any other ideas, venues, etc? StartDate: 01/27/07 EndDate: 12/22/07 Okay I admit, I suggest this because well... I live in Palm Springs so it's just up the mountain about an hour and some to get there, but also because the mountain scenic drive is beautiful as is the whole town of Idyllwild. I use to go to boarding school up there in my youth and remember the area fondly with it's vast hiking trails, cute touristy antiquing shops, and crafting fairs. I'd be all up for this. And you can bet I'll be up in Idyllwild this winter now that I've got me a 4 wheel drive truck to take the dogs out to play in the snow, lounge around at the bluebird inn sitting in front of the fireplace all curled up and toast warm. 5S Dude 10-25-2007, 07:10 AM How about this: Monthly Bluegrass Jam in Idyllwild Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Location: The Java Lounge in Idyllwild Monthly Bluegrass Jam Now Happening the 4th Saturday of Each Month in Idyllwild! Yeah Dez! Start a poll to see the availability of our SoCal members to get an estimate on the turnout. We’re in if the date lines up with our schedule. I think we could all use another get together while the larger “West Coast National Ridgeline Reunion” slated for Las Vegas Nevada is still a long way away and so much more planning needs to be done to pull that one off. This sounds like a great time and Idyllwild is an absolutely beautiful place in the winter. Ridgegal 10-25-2007, 10:17 AM Sorry Guys, been really out of it....if u do something...just let me know. Thanks Kel DesertRidgeline 10-25-2007, 01:08 PM Yeah Dez! Start a poll to see the availability of our SoCal members to get an estimate on the turnout. We’re in if the date lines up with our schedule. Haven't been to that part of CA...although distance and schedule may pose as a determining factor. If time permits, COUNT ME IN! [BTW guys, would you know anyone who's interested in getting a piece or a whole set of stock RT rims with the Michellin tires? Only 1,800 miles on them so they're really fresh. You might know someone who's looking to replace their truck's tires (they are getting the rims as well). Really need to get rid of them so I hope you can help. THANKS!!!] kanji 10-25-2007, 02:48 PM sounds good, yes we need to do another GTG meet soon, would be happy to do another slide show for this meet, i think i'm getting proficient with this program to what i did with the OC meet. Yes, scheduling permits, please let us know weeks in advance to make plans :D . For the Vegas meet, who is planning that stage of the meet? I think i may have to do an advance reservation and will be staying at a local resort while others camp at the near campgrounds:D . Count me in for both for now. PODO 10-25-2007, 03:35 PM Hey Kanji, I agree with you on the local resorts hahahaahaha :D kanji 10-25-2007, 08:55 PM Hey Kanji, I agree with you on the local resorts hahahaahaha :D the local resort, i mean local, the campsite that 5Sdude has told me he's thinking of staying, is actually down the street where i usually stay, its actually walking distance and its on the Vegas Strip. So, we can do the campfire thing and when its time to sleep, i can just walk down the street and sleep in a bed.:D DesertRidgeline 10-25-2007, 09:03 PM i can just walk down the street and sleep in a bed.:D After I turned 40 I came to the realization that there are other options to camping besides sleeping on the ground in a tent. Now I love to go cabin camping instead of tent or RV camping. DesertRidgeline 10-27-2007, 08:02 PM Well, I drove up to Idyllwild today to take the dog for a hike and have lunch at one of the local eateries. The drive was beautiful even with the smoke from all the fires in So. Cal. Plenty of trees that are gold from fall and there was a lake that we passed by (which was closed like the forest) but it sure was pretty. The town had a lot of people in it and we decided to eat at Joanns eaterie since they allow us to bring the dog into the serving area outside. We chose to go for the BBQ side instead of the regular restaurant side. Tip: If you go to the BBQ side, order the ribs instead of anything else, the ribs looked excellent. On the other hand I ended up ordering a cheese burger from the grille and asked the waiter to make it "rare" and he said, I'll have to ask the cook if he can do that because he's one of those cooks that sort of cooks everything one way. I told him, then just let him cook it his way and that's fine. The BBQ side is a flat rate of $9.50 and includes your choice of either a burger/cheese burger, chicken, Jumbo Hot dog, Jumbo bratwurst, or ribs. It comes with a soda, cole slaw and BBQ'd corn on the cob. If we had ordered the ribs I think it would have been a bargain although messy. The lunch came and the cheese burger that I ordered wasn't rare, it was literally raw, it was so raw that you could still see some of the raw meat on the Outside of the burger! So if you go to the BBQ side and order a cheese burger or regular burger don't ask for it to be cooked any special way. I looked over at the cook and it was obvious that this was not the kind of cook that I wanted to send my food back to for fear of what he might do with it. Anyway my buddy also had a cheese burger cooked the normal way and he said it was one of the best burgers he's had in a long time. But if/when I go back up there and if I eat at Joanns again I shall definitely order up the Ribs. We also found a "European" bakery where everything is made from scratch. They also serve breakfast and lunch and we'll definitely be eating there next time, I did bring home two pieces each of a black forest cake with the cherry sauce just dripping out, and 2 cinammon buns that are as big as my palm (and Im a big big man) and we'll be having them after dinner tonight but if they taste anything like they look they should be excellent. We wandered around in all the little crafty type of shops I bought a thankyou card to send to my parents for buying me the Ridgeline as well as I bought myself a "Wranger" baseball cap in a mustard color since I've not seen them locally in this color. Overall we spent about 2 or 3 hours up there and had a great time just sort of wandering around taking it all in. Joanns restaurant has a live band outside in the BBQ area which if people decide to go up there would be fun to listen/watch as they were actually pretty good. alexander 10-27-2007, 08:23 PM idylwild is coo for me I was up there last wekkend stopped by lake fulmer and the cabin my grandpa used to own http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9952/pa210014hn4.jpg http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3682/pa210016ux4.jpg DesertRidgeline 10-27-2007, 10:05 PM Nice photos, yeah looked about the same this weekend, but it was too smokey to get any good photos, that is to say that it wasn't so smokey that it was a problem breathing but rather that it was smokey enough to make any photos rather hazey.
