I thought I had read on here earlier that people were having paint problems and this morning I am unable to find it.

Dawg,

The suggestion to use a paste shoe wax was a real one. The designer of the Ridge suggested its use and I can attest that it works well.

You can also do like a growing number of us and get a quality spray in bedliner. I have been happy since I did this and it get on my nerves trying to clean the scratches every time I hauled something. I went with turboliner and other have gone with Rhino and a few have done it themselves. The threads should be easy enough to find.

I bought my Ridge at the Beginning of Nov '06, 30 days and 1,100 miles later the paint was peeling from the passengers side of the rear bumper, from the seam between the rear quarter pannel and bumper just behind the passenger's rear wheel.
I took it back to the dealer and they said that it looked like when the bumper was originaly installed it was tighened too tight and the paint cracked.
The dealer fixed the paint under warranty, but it did a little checking around the lot and on my some of my buddies Ridge's and found that on average the right / passenger's side of the bumper is noticeably tighter than the left / driver's.
On new '07 that was still on the lot, the bottom tip of the passenger's taillight was actually overlapping the bumper and had dug into the paint a little.
Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone that is having similar issues.

70D '07, My 2006 has the exact same issue only to both sides of the rear bumper. Looks like it was tightened down to tight when assembled. At least your dealer fixed it, mine told me they would check on it but no action as of yet. I have had a whole host of problems with mine and am fastly coming to the end of my rope with Honda's truck. Problem is i can not find anything I like better, that truck has me spoiled...

70 D, same issue as yours. Bought the truck in Nov06, and at about 1800 miles, paint cracked at the exact same spot (passenger side). Took it back to the dealer and is being fixed under warranty (no questions asked).

The passenger tailight issue you described: bumper touches or over laps onto the lens compared to a complete space around the drivers tailight lens (bumper doesnt touch lens)----mine does this too (squeeks if you step on the bumper on the pass. side). I hope I dont have any paint issues, I will keep a close eye. I do notice like most that Honda paint is soft. I also have small rattles in the cab I drown out with the stereo...UGGG I do like everything else!

I have the paint coming off at rear fender/bumper cover joint on both sides.
Plus half dozen other issues, hopefully I will get a loaner car.

first thing I had them do when I purchased the truck was send it to the body shop to re-align the front and rear fender panels - tails lights were rubbing agains the body work panels were bowed from pressure.

They asked me what my huge dilema was, I replied paint damage and future cracked lens issues unless they wanted to pay for all future damage.

They realigned parts and showed me where paint was already damaged due to rubbing with one of the rear lights.

Nice Job on Quality Honda, never had to do this with a new car purchase before.

Body panels are still bowed, but at least lens doesn't rub.
