Well I knew it would happen eventually. I was at either the HomeDepot or Lowes (not sure right now because I missed seeing the problem when I got back with my load off goodies) and someone hit the passenger side of my truck! The insurance asked the silly question if anyone was inside the vehicle after I already informed them that no one saw it happen and I hadn't noticed it for a week (I drive my hybrid civic to work each day so the truck was just sitting happy and unbothered in my driveway). It will probably be a good $1200 to 1500 if I am lucky to get it fixed. But I can't have dents all over my Ridgeline, so I will be paying out some money. I told the insurance lady that if I had seen who did it they weren't likely to have gotten very far before I beat them into submission. I will have to post a picture shortly.

To top this off, I noticed that the cover on one of the legs for my roofrack is missing. WHAT THE HECK! I told my dealer about this and they said they would call me back, been 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything. Guess I will ask the dealer doing the body repair if they will order the part for me since it should be under warranty (no reason a part should fall off a $35k truck period).

By the way, HELLO EVERYONE! Been a crazy crazy year, and it isn't over yet. Been more involved with a work project than ever in the past but it is good, my boss is very happy where things are going so maybe that means good things for me in the future, although I am still a few years away from being eligable for another promotion. We shall see.

Sorry to hear about your truck, Capt.

Good to "see" you though :D

Thanks Kellcut, nice seeing you again too. here are some pictures to show my poor fender. Tomorrow it goes out to the body shop and hopefully it comes back looking like new (worried a little about what looks like molding under the fender which appears to be poking out).

Capt, I'm grinning a big grin for seeing your name on the boards and shedding a tear for the terrible scratches on your pretty red truck. I'm so sorry you have that damage. We want 'after' photos so we can see it restored to its glory.

We've missed you!

Welcome back Middy. Too bad about your truck. Same deal happened to me at Ace Hardware. They took a chunk out of my rear bumper and left. I'm leaving it alone since there's no metal involved.

One of my roof rack covers blew off when I was "governor testing" late one night on the Interstate. The dealer replaced it under warranty since they installed it.

Ridgeline's must be a magnet for crap like this. I seek out wide parking spots, park in the boonies, etc., and it never fails. Some dumb ars parks as close as possible. Usually its a mini van full of rugrats. Even at work, which has a fenced in parking area, I get people parking really close. In fact one fellow employee parked so close to my RL that she had to crawl out her passenger door...rather than just back up and attempt to part it again.

Just this morning I parked my RL in a very wide spot, even took part of the other space near a curb. Some arshole got their POS right next to my RL. Ugggh! I'm considering carrying a bat to make my point! Oh, but that would be juvenile. It would make my feel better, but juvenile.

I feel for you, sorry about your RL. Get well soon!

The funny part about this is that I have a bat in my Ridgeline and in my Civic. Not for this purpose, I play softball in the summer and don't like aluminum bats so I use a wooden bat which I obviously have to bring to the game myself. Obviously I am also bad about cleaning out my cars ;-)

But every once in a while, when someone does something really stupid I think about the bat. But I think it would be beyond juvenile so there it stays.

I like the idea of the bat, seems reasonable to me.

*3M Adhesive remover is awesome, It'll eat the paint away.
*roadflare w/sunday newspaper if they are a real ars or did hit and run.

Insurance NEVER pays 9 out of 10 for a vehicle fire by vandalism.
