Problems with stereo after adding amp and subs

Has anyone had any problems with the stereo cutting out in front, as well as the sub box after adding an amp and box? Just replaced my amp with a new one thinking there was something wrong with the first one. Worked fine for about three days, and then the same thing happened, no front speakers and no subs, yet the rear doors still work. The stereo guys are dumbfounded. The installer did hook up the sub box to the factory subwoofer output so I would have subwoofer control from the deck. Could the factory deck have some sort of short circuit protection? At my wits end with this!

Are the amps installed able to accept speaker level signals?

:)

The stock deck has a protection circuit in it and shuts down if there's too much (not enough?) load across the inputs. To get it to work, bridge the sub inputs with a 68ohm resistor.

If the stock head unit thinks it is not connected to a speaker (line converter or high pass input on a cheap amp) it shuts down to protect internal amp.

Resistor will do the trick!

So, you left the stock deck IN but replaced the speakers? then added an amp using (im guessing here) line level inputs off the rear speaker feeds - to drive a sub amp, which is powering the OE sub or an aftermarket box?

If that is the case, I am just confused why did ya leave the OE deck in place? and are the speakers amped also?
