Sarasota FL Ridges......

The number of Ridges on the road has jumped recently (that or I'm more attuned because I own one)

Roll Call.

Who's here?

Ours was purchased at Honda Cars of Bradenton, but we live down in Cape Coral. We have purchased cars from them in the past, and people have said that Honda of Fort Myers, 25 min drive Vs. 1 1/2 hour drive, overprices their vehicles, so we went with Bradenton again. :)

Whatever you do don't buy from Brandon Honda. I just bought an RTL, loaded and they completly screwed me. Beware, glad you corrected to Brandenton...

Purchased mine at Wilde Sun Honda in Sarasota. It's gotta be the 6th or 7th vehicle I've purchased there. They are always good to me. lowfog what happened? Your feet have shoes on 'em for a reason. Walk out if you need to.

Hey Sarasota guys, question for you. Is the beach at Sesita Key close to Point of Rocks still accessable to the public? Lived there many years ago as a kid and would like to visit the area again.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I haven't been over that way (Point of Rocks) in ages (probably since High School) but I believe it's still accessible.

I don't reconize any of you going to Disney this weekend? Saturday Feb.24 Ft. wilderness. All are invited. Hope to see ya. You don't need tickets to WDW to come to the get together at Ft. Wilderness. See ya..:)

I was down in Siesta Key for about a week surrounding the President's Day weekend and I noticed a couple of things:

1. The weather seems to be a bit better down there than we get in the winter.
2. There are a ton of Ridgelines on the road. I was in a fairly small area (stayed on Midnight Pass Rd--was up on 41 a little and in "downtown" Siesta Key, so a radius of just a few miles) and I saw them every time I went anywhere. Also, noticed a lot more blues, don't see too many blues in Columbus yet.
3. Florida Ridgeline owners don't wave to pasty-white northerners driving a Pathfinder rental.:)

I purchased mine just short of a month ago at Tampa Hondaland and I too see a ton of them on the road......

I picked up my RL in January... from Brandon Honda.
Had no issues working with them at all.
Love the RL, but I don't see too many more up this way YET.

black rts with chrome gator and roc sticker in rear window
i love this truck!!!
we should have a informal ridge meet and greet at the ringling causeway or something, would be a nice pic at sunset with the water in the background and the ridges in the front!
this is such a great website, ive already learned a ton of tricks for future mods

Does anyone around here do some mild off roading with their RL? If so, where do you go?

I drove to Davie FL, near Ft. Lauderdale to buy mine. Rick Case Honda Found it on line. Negotiated everything over the phone, price, trade in. Shopped on line with Car max to make sure I knew the best price. I wanted the black or Dark Cherry Pearl. I got the Dark Cherry pearl. Which you don't see a lot of. You are right about Brandon Honda. The salesmen quoted me a price of 18,000 for a used one. It was too good to be true, it was actually 23,500. I knew the deal was wrong when he quoted me the price. He looked at the wrong line on his sales sheet. They seemed disorganized. I highly recommend Rick Case in Davie.

Sarasota. However, I like your Bradenton dealer much better. I bought the truck in Gainesville as they had the one I wanted when it first came out. I also thought Gainesville was an excellent dealership.

University just West of I75. I'm out to Lakewood Ranch every weekend my Grandparents live there do yard work for them etc. Work in 301/Whitfield area.

Nothing makes mine stick out too much from the rest from the front - back window has NRA sticker lower left corner and center window has a silhouette of a buck

I'll keep an eye out for you shouldn't be too hard black cherry tinted windows and brush guard

- only thing i've done with mine is tint windows would love to get the 2" lift, especially after i found out were they hide the oil filter on this truck heard a story while getting my first oil change up in NC guy changing it said his buddy has one and already popped the oil filter off on the road to his house.

Hi fellow ROC'ers...

I am currently vacationing in Longboat Key. I have seen 3 silver RLs and followed a green RL on I4 today as I was coming back from Orlando.

I am enjoying the Bradenton area and have eaten on Cortez Rd. many nights. It's awesome down here!

Headin' to Busch Gardens tomorrow. Maybe I'll see a few more FLA RLs!

Enjoy your vacation....have a great time...you must be on the North end of the key if dining on Cortez

You need to head south to Sarasota before you leave....check out siesta key beach ranked #2 beach by Dr. Beach last year.

Stop into Fleming's for Happy Hour......5-6-7....we call it and ask for me.....off Sat and Sun though

Are you going to Bush Gardens during the day or night? They have Halloween Horror nights now at night...that is awesome too.;)

Sounds good Dan.

Headin' to BG right now.

This should be the last of our running around. Leaving on Sat. Tomorrow we are going to do Mote Marine (only about 10 minutes away) and then hit the Oakmont 8 on Cortez to see the opening of Zombieland.

It is only my daughter (14) and I here this week. No happy hour for us. LOL. But, a steak at Fleming's before the movie sounds aces!

Thanks for the tips!

Dan,

Great recommendation on LeRoy's. HOLY COW! Excellent everything...service, food, price, atmosphere, everything. Enjoyed it immensely! Thanks for the tip!

Saw the stuff about the Howl-o-Scream at BGs. We left after a long day however.

Are you the Dan on the Flemings website? I think we will eat there tomorrow. Should I get a reservation?

I was on I75S today right before the Palmetto exit (Rt. 301S I think) and there was white RL on the side of the road with it's blinkers on. Hope everything was alright.

It's beautiful down here!

I was on ABC 7 news today. We had Bill Clinton in for dinner last night.

LeRoy's is awesome....Great food at reasonable prices....cold beer.....lots of tv's to watch the game.

Howl-o-Scream at BGs is great. Too much to be there all day then do this at night. It is a little more on the adult side too. More beer drinking, but not out of control, still safe. They are all about checking the id's too even if you have the proper wrist band. 14 is a good age to go with some adult supervision.
I haven't done it in a couple of years.

If you went to the Sarasota page on the Fleming's site, then yes that is me. I am working tomorrow so stop in if you like.;)

The weather is really starting to get nice. The humidity is starting to break.;)

i was also on the abc 7 news today for the restaurant. Bill Clinton came in for dinner last night after his speech at new college. I now can say I shook hands with a president of the US. Actually twice.

I read one thread on here about a guy mudding out in the everglades park or something but there were alot of rocks and it took his oil filter off...sounds like he went a little too far...but it sits right under the passenger front tire and I guess if you get just the right size rock in front of that tire, the guys i was talking about on his driveway some "driveways" up there are much worse than an old forest service road.
