I have an RT. Just got a factory subwoofer from salvage yard. Does anyone know if the wires are already there or will I have to run some wires to the headunit and get some kind of plug for the sub?

Thanks in advance for help!!

I can't verify your wires but does your HU have a "C" connector? The "C" connector consists of 8 pins and is between the Antenna lead and the "B" connector (14 Pin). If your HU is capable of controlling the factory sub, this "C" connector must be present. If you have the male end on the HU but nothing connected to it, look for a connector that fits and that should be your subwoofer wires...then I would guess that you have the sub wires behind the back seats as well. Hope this helps.

The RT/RTX head unit does not show a subwoofer volume control when you toggle through the "sound" controls. Just Bass > Treble > Fade > Balance > Volume. I'm guessing that to hook in a subwoofer (factory or otherwise), you'd have to cut the factory speaker wires (or use an adapter like Crutchfield sells) & splice in lines to an amp with speaker-level inputs. Again, I'm just guessing on this...

if the wiring is there then you could always buy a factory head unit with subwoofer out. I have seen them on ebay every now and then. going for about 120 or so.
