OEM Tonneau Cover Pricing from Honda Dealers

I've been pricing the OEM Tonneau cover and have contacted 3 local Honda dealers. I find it odd that there is quite a price difference between the 3. They all charge the same for the cover itself, but labor to install has varied $100-$300 overall. What is going on? Has anyone else experienced the same?

I can purchase the cover cheaper online, but so far none of the dealers would quote me a price on just installation. Maybe they install only if purchased from them?

I paid $1417 installed and later found it thru Honda's website for $1300.

Honda assigns an installation time of 2.5 hours for the tonneau cover. Dealers have different labor rates and are, of course, free to charge any amount of labor time they need. MSRP on the cover is $1,199.00, so an installed price of $1,300.00 is a bargain.

We just purchased a new '07 Ridgeline and asked our dealer for a price to install an OEM cover. They quoted the tonneau cover and labor seperately and the labor cost was $500.00. They said we could buy an OEM cover anywhere and they would install it for that price. I restore cars as a hobby and will probably tackle it myself....

I don't know what we charge for the cover , but labor to install it is 4 hours at $89 hour, and after doing several, there is no way you could ever pay me less to do them, not really hard but very time consuming.
