Hello All, I looked all over the forum but couldn't find any answers. Does anyone know if there is a brighter bulb that I can put in place of the 168 size that is in the bed lights? They just don't seem bright enough. Thanks

Agreed, should be better than a night light.

The stock 168 wedge lamps are 5w. It is possible to get up to 25w versions but if you swapped out all 4 that would exceed the fuse rating on that circuit. You might be ok swapping just 1 or 2. Another option is to go with LED replacements because the current draw is much lower. You would be able to get away with 25w output LEDS.

Does anyone know if the quad "168 (194) LED Super Bright Amber Bulbs
(mini wedge mount, 12V 25W, 4 Super Bright LEDs per bulb)" would fit in the stock housing, or are they too large?

I don't understand. A watt is a watt no matter what the equipment is. If a standard 25 watt bulb draws too much current so will a 25 watt LED. If "watt" is being used to describe the amount of illumination than that is not correct.

Automotive LEDs are advertised as being equivalent to regular incandescent bulb wattage. When you see an LED advertised as 5w it's just telling you that it's a replacement for a regular 5w bulb. In reality the LED is pulling around 80mA (less than 1 watt). When you buy LED replacements for indicator bulbs you will usually see a warning that the LED may not draw enough power to trigger the flasher unit if it's the thermal variety. I changed my bed light to LED's and they are brighter then the original lights.
Here is where I got them. http://superbrightleds.com/

Hey, Tony! Did you put a cache out at Flint Creek Water Park at some point? Just wondering... ;)

Which ones did you get? Are you happy with the increased light output?

More of a white light....not yellow like stock

All of the bed lights are: 194/168 size

These are the ones I got for my bed lights from www.superbrightleds.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com)

WLed 5 Led 194/168 (White)

Do you know if the WLED-WHP Pure White High Power light will work in the bed (and in the in-bed trunk)? Would it be brighter than the stock lights?

I have not used them....they are pricy.

I just switched all of my 6 led light (bed & interior) to the newer 9 leds.

Much better light. As bright as stock, but more of a white light.
