Unbend Roof Rack

I went to install my roof rack today measuring and cutting the strips to fit. Then I put cloths on the roof and left the bubble rap on the front and rear points so there would be no scratching of the truck. I set the rack on the truck and somethings not right, it doesn't sit right on the roof. After loosing the crossbars to make sure they weren't the problem I take the rack off the truck. Comparing the two sides the pass. side bar is straight not following the cruve of the roof. After trying to rebend the bars back in place with no luck I have given up. You'd think that 235 lbs would put some curvature back in the bar but nothing. It looks like it was never bent from the factory no damage what so ever on the bar. I'll have to call the dealer tomorrow morning.

Can you make some pictures, so we could possibly suggest something? I remember I had to struggle for a while in order to fit mine and to screw all the nuts.

College Hills Honda is sending me a new passenger side rail today. I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen anything like this. Thanks.

Yeah, sounds like your part wasn't finished correctly when it was made. Even with two matching rails, it was still a bit of a challenge to get every bolt-screw to catch and tread. It then end it all fits and it's nice and snug. I'll take a little wrestling over a sloppy or loose fit any day though. :p

Good luck with your replacement rail, let us know if that does the trick.
