RTXBOB 02-03-2007, 06:33 PM Just got my RTX a couple weeks ago. I think I would like some side steps, fog lights, body side molding, etc., etc., etc. in that order. I plan on getting the chrome OEM tube type side steps. Does anybody have any pros or cons on them, and is there an after market brand that is just as good?
c_duncan_pe 02-03-2007, 06:46 PM My first accessory was the OEM Bug Deflector for the hood. No problems with it, works like a charm.

First was easy - rear mud guards. Gotta have the rear mud guards. It's stopping adding stuff that is tough.
CBRidgeJockey 02-03-2007, 07:26 PM got all my accessories with my initial purchase....I guess my cargo net would be my first outside purchase....:D
OEM side steps... did those instead of the bars for the extra side protection.
roof rack second...
under seat tray third... Infinity speakers 4th, bed mat 5th, cargo net 6th, ipod adapter 7th, home refi 8th, more stuff...
roakey 02-03-2007, 08:13 PM Bed mat.

djeaux 02-03-2007, 08:33 PM My first "accessory" was a little adhesive foam heart that my daughter was wearing on her cheek when I took her for her first driving lesson. She stuck it on the dash & it's been on the dash of 3 trucks since then. I stuck it on the dash in my Ridgeline before I left the dealership!
The first true automotive accessory was Westin step bars...
MDVE39 02-03-2007, 09:34 PM Bed mat and underseat tray. Door molding and hitch planned next.
cdepuydt 02-03-2007, 10:13 PM My first accessory was the OEM Bug Deflector for the hood. No problems with it, works like a charm.

Same here...just like the looks of it and keeps the bug/stone damage to a minimum. I wish I would have gotten it the same day I got my RL as I picked up some stone damage on the front of my hood about a week after I got it.
Cajun Country Ridgeline 02-03-2007, 10:30 PM AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, I HAD THEM ADD ON:
FOGLIGHTS, ROOF RACK, BED EXTENDER, RUNNING BOARDS, TRAILER HITCH PACKAGE, REAR SPLASH GUARDS, DARK FLOOR MATS, PIN STRIPING, FULL SIZE SPARE.
LATER I ADDED THE HOOD AIR DEFLECTOR, HONDA DOOR VISORS, AND GE NIGHTHAWK HEAD LIGHTS.
Just got my RTX a couple weeks ago. I think I would like some side steps, fog lights, body side molding, etc., etc., etc. in that order. I plan on getting the chrome OEM tube type side steps. Does anybody have any pros or cons on them, and is there an after market brand that is just as good?If you go aftermarket, you can get a wider range of options and all at lower prices.
Dealer installed before I picked up: mudguards, chrome bumper accents, alternate grille
My first add-on was the tint
Kepeli 02-04-2007, 12:38 AM Parrot ck3100 was my first.
beepbill23 02-04-2007, 03:14 AM Besides the Initial Install from the dealer(added OEM accs), i would have to say The WESTIN Side Bars and the ROC plate and decal!!
brich 02-04-2007, 05:54 AM Rear mud guards.... Otherwise nothing added.
I bought my truck with intentions of adding a ton of stuff. Yet nearly after a year of ownership, I'm still so much in love with the lines and design of the truck, I just can't put anything on.
I am considering a bug deflector in the spring as well as a hitch... We shall see...:D
lthompson936 02-04-2007, 06:02 AM I purchased my 07 RTL two weeks ago. I added the Tow Package, Toneau Cover and the Top Rails.. The Dealer had already added the Chrome Bumper Trim. the Chrome Tube side rails , which I like ALOT..
I just found the side body mouldings on E-bay for 1/3 the OEM price. Next purchase will be Bug shield and window visors.
Enjoy

Raplon 02-04-2007, 05:27 PM My dealer installed chrome side steps, chrome looking wheels and chrome bumper trim before I even walked in to the dealership. The first accessory I added myself was a roof rack.

doc_cj 02-07-2007, 01:10 AM This one's a fun thread. Hmm ... I got the tonneau, bed extender, and a couple other items when I bought the truck initially, so I'm not sure that counts. My first after market item was actually the side steps and brush bar, which were purchased the a couple weeks later but each on the same day as the other. I've not stopped buying stuff since ... in fact I just ordered a set of Neoprene pads for the console, etc., about 5 minutes before I read this thread. :p
VT RAIDER 02-07-2007, 08:32 AM My trunk mat set was my first accessory purchase...
adpenguin 02-07-2007, 08:42 AM My first accessory was the OEM roof rack...I had it installed the day I got my RL.
UglyTruckling 02-07-2007, 01:13 PM First accessory -- rear mudflaps.

Second accessory -- black step tubes.
Third accessory -- Honda black grill.
djgonzo007 02-07-2007, 01:23 PM I had the factory running boards, roof rack, and ignition kill installed by the dealer.
Next up should be an ipod adapter.
Johnny Chimpo 02-07-2007, 01:26 PM My first accessories were a Go Rhino hitch step and a Westin Bull Bar with drive lights. Both front and back bars are black. Oh yeah...can't forget my ROC.com sticker!:p
patm300e 02-07-2007, 02:04 PM I just orded it for my RTL (It already had navigation package, moon roof, etc.)
Torza Top Soft Tri Folding Tonneau Covers

Sure do love that truck. They need to make a navigation voice with Larry the cable guy!

bwheeler 02-07-2007, 05:19 PM If your interested, I have a set of factory ridgeline running boards I took off.:
dhoov19 02-07-2007, 06:15 PM Trunk carpet, under seat tray, cargo net, and trunk net all the same day...next are some exterior...gotta add a hitch, and rear guards, trying to decide on bars or running boards...
5S Dude 02-13-2007, 10:04 PM Our first very first accessory was the rear mud flaps. Our son bought us the Black Five Spoke 20” Wheels & Tires the week before our first ROC meet & greets in Laguna Beach and we have since added the Trailer Hitch, Rear Under Seat Tray, ROC Rear Window Sticker and 5S Dude Billet Door Sills, Dress Bars and Cubby Cover.

You underestimated my perserverance and dedication to the task! :p Plus, now that I've got my beyootiful chrome nerf bars mounted, that spot behind them really sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb.
SRQRIDGE 02-17-2008, 09:49 PM Black side Steps, Tray under back seat, Cargo Net, all from H&A. :)
Truckin' 02-18-2008, 10:33 AM We had the Nav., moon roof. and roof rack installed when purchesed:cool: Then the rear mud guards, running boards, air deflector ect. ect. ect.
BIGGUY gets confused and his memory isn't so good. Of course what he meant is that we bought the RTL Navi which already has the moon roof. About a week after our purchase we had to surrender it overnight to have the OEM roof rack, running boards and backup camera added.
Our first project was the building of our doggie deck. We had been designing that in our heads while waiting for our truck to arrive. That was priority number one so our pooches would have a place to raise. We put on the rear mud guards, air deflector, and the rest of the string of add-ons since.
We went OEM on the running boards because we wanted the black accent. There weren't many choices for aftermarket at the time we bought our truck.
I didn't like the OEM body side moldings for a long time, until I was able to see them in person. Now I like them a lot.
We've added a combination of OEM and aftermarket. It all depended on the product and our own preferences.
Thankfully, we have run out of additions we want after getting our cool custom door sills from 5S Dude last April in Sedona. I could be persuaded to replace our cubby cover with a black powder coated one from Ron! I like that crinkle coating like our door sills and probably just plain with nothing engraved into it, hint, hint. Are you ready to sell those things yet??? :D
Pizza Man 02-18-2008, 11:23 AM My RL came with the rear mud flaps and locking lug nuts. My first "Mod" was the Wade bug deflector, painted on the inside to match and pin stripes at the same time. Then the Retrax, followed by the Burtman Vent Shades. Rear bumper protective molding furnished and installed by ONDLINKS. Then the '08 Machined Wheels in place of the Alloys, then the Westin Oval2 side steps.
Next to be done would be the interior dash trim. I'll probably stop there.
I would like the optional grille and OEM fog lights, but that's a stretch.
Most all accessories were installed when we picked up the Ridgeline in late Feb 07.
The first thing I got put on the week after pick-up was the tint.
I got the Hood Air Deflector Sunroof Visor & Window Visors in May of 07.
Now that I think about it I don't know when I got the little stick on mirriors from Autzonethey may have been put on the same week as the tint.
HCM_Ridge 02-18-2008, 02:30 PM First Round: Mud Guards, OEM Hitch, Trunk Net & Mat, Underseat Tray & Auto Rearview Mirror
Round 2: Polk Audio Speakers
Right now working on installing foglights, & just ordered a Bedlocker; looking at rims - can't have enough toys...

OH My God, how could I forget 5SDude's Pizza Man Door Sills? That was Mod #2.
BruceRTL 02-18-2008, 02:34 PM First accessory was a hitch. Second is one of those bug guard deals that attach in front of the hood - currently on order. Third will probably be the Yakima rack attachment for my 2 kayaks.
Order 66 02-18-2008, 03:09 PM Ah, you always remember your first. A roof rack.:D

mdwalls 02-18-2008, 07:10 PM Started by fixing Honda's brain fart by not including rear muds. :(
MD35vtec 02-18-2008, 08:38 PM side steps:D
SRQRIDGE 02-18-2008, 09:48 PM I agree I purchased the rear mud guards a week after my initial purchase of side steps, back seat under tray, cargo net.
I debated whether the truck looked better with or without the rear mud guards. After the first time I drove it in the rain, I purchased the rear mud guards. in Florida I will be driving in rain a lot.
I just purchased the Retrax today. Thanks for all the feedback to help make that purchase in other threads. I though about the leer cap, but I like the look of the truck without the leer cap better. Too bad we lose space in the bed with Retrax.
Damn I have spend some $$$ adding stuff and I have only had the truck for a little over a month. Those door sills from 5s dude are my next purchase. Hope he gets the machine up and running soon.
Truckin, you talked about 5S Dude making a Cubby Cover? What is that? any pictures somewhere?
RustyH 02-18-2008, 10:32 PM I bought my truck already pretty done out, with custom paint, booming audio system, 22" wheels and airbag suspension. What I've added in the past two weeks are pretty standard, but much needed stuff, rear mud flaps, Truxedo Pro cover, window vents, Hidden Hitch and trailer wiring. However, the first accessory I bought was a windshield cover from Honda, probably the only accessory I'll buy from the dealer.:D
Truckin' 02-18-2008, 11:01 PM Truckin, you talked about 5S Dude making a Cubby Cover? What is that? any pictures somewhere?
I bought one that's not being made any more. You can see it in the fifth photo here:
http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=125694&postcount=7
Ron is making even cooler ones. See his thread here:

You're going to love the Retrax and I bet you don't miss that lost space much.
SRQRIDGE 02-19-2008, 06:52 AM I will be ordering one of those also. Cubby cover. what a great idea.

RustyH 02-19-2008, 10:49 PM First rear seat accessory. :D
Be careful man. They look great but they can really mess up your upholstery. I got one of those 16 years ago, and now it's over 6 feet tall and wants to take over the wheel.

I added a "protector" to go over my Ridgeline key and make it more unique. That and to distinguish it from any other Honda keys that might go on my key ring.
Six Rails 02-20-2008, 03:02 AM First was the bed mat, now I have the fog lights to install, possibly in a month or so, when I pull the front end out I want to have the grill painted formal black and the fog light inserts at the same time, and maybe the roof rack as well. Kinda BOB in the truck out.
shovelhd 02-20-2008, 06:49 AM The first accessories I bought were on the truck already as mine was an early 2005 dealer locate.
Roof rack
Rear mudguards
Auto-dimming mirror
Running boards
The first accessories I bought, I got all in one order by price matching Bernardi's price with my local dealer.
Hitch and harness
Fog lights
Ski rack
Rear seat tray
Floor mats
Since then I've added too much stuff to list. Not quite at ChrisM's level but in the ballpark.
xridgelinex 02-20-2008, 11:52 AM First rear seat accessory. :D
You win for the most expensive worthwhile accessory.... I was cheap and opted for the bug guard...

Foofighter 02-26-2008, 03:15 PM Rear mudflaps. Couldn't believe they weren't stock.
I'm in a lease so I'm trying to go easy on accessories. I would really like a tonneau cover, though.
filmcartel 02-26-2008, 04:37 PM I bought in this order...

That's it for now.

ebay. And the covers are dirt cheap, too. Only $7 shipped. I have that one for my main key, and I ordered an identical one for my backup key. My parents just got a CR-V and it has an identical key to mine. If you want one, just search for "honda key cover," or something like that. Plus, it is easier to slide on then a condom and helps save the key.
Powdaze 02-27-2008, 12:06 AM Racks for 2 bikes and 4 snowboards.
