What was your first Accessory

Just got my RTX a couple weeks ago. I think I would like some side steps, fog lights, body side molding, etc., etc., etc. in that order. I plan on getting the chrome OEM tube type side steps. Does anybody have any pros or cons on them, and is there an after market brand that is just as good?

My first accessory was the OEM Bug Deflector for the hood. No problems with it, works like a charm.

First was easy - rear mud guards. Gotta have the rear mud guards. It's stopping adding stuff that is tough.

got all my accessories with my initial purchase....I guess my cargo net would be my first outside purchase....:D

OEM side steps... did those instead of the bars for the extra side protection.

My first "accessory" was a little adhesive foam heart that my daughter was wearing on her cheek when I took her for her first driving lesson. She stuck it on the dash & it's been on the dash of 3 trucks since then. I stuck it on the dash in my Ridgeline before I left the dealership!

The first true automotive accessory was Westin step bars...

Bed mat and underseat tray. Door molding and hitch planned next.

Same here...just like the looks of it and keeps the bug/stone damage to a minimum. I wish I would have gotten it the same day I got my RL as I picked up some stone damage on the front of my hood about a week after I got it.

AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, I HAD THEM ADD ON:
FOGLIGHTS, ROOF RACK, BED EXTENDER, RUNNING BOARDS, TRAILER HITCH PACKAGE, REAR SPLASH GUARDS, DARK FLOOR MATS, PIN STRIPING, FULL SIZE SPARE.

LATER I ADDED THE HOOD AIR DEFLECTOR, HONDA DOOR VISORS, AND GE NIGHTHAWK HEAD LIGHTS.

Besides the Initial Install from the dealer(added OEM accs), i would have to say The WESTIN Side Bars and the ROC plate and decal!!

Rear mud guards.... Otherwise nothing added.
I bought my truck with intentions of adding a ton of stuff. Yet nearly after a year of ownership, I'm still so much in love with the lines and design of the truck, I just can't put anything on.
I am considering a bug deflector in the spring as well as a hitch... We shall see...:D

I purchased my 07 RTL two weeks ago. I added the Tow Package, Toneau Cover and the Top Rails.. The Dealer had already added the Chrome Bumper Trim. the Chrome Tube side rails , which I like ALOT..

I just found the side body mouldings on E-bay for 1/3 the OEM price. Next purchase will be Bug shield and window visors.

My dealer installed chrome side steps, chrome looking wheels and chrome bumper trim before I even walked in to the dealership. The first accessory I added myself was a roof rack.

Hood Air Deflector was my first.

My first accessories were installed when I picked up the RTL from the dealer. They were the OEM running boards and trailer hitch.
Tomorrow I should be receiving body side molding, window rain guards and rear splash guards.

We had the Nav., moon roof. and roof rack installed when purchesed:cool: Then the rear mud guards, running boards, air deflector ect. ect. ect.:eek:

AVS bug shield, not sure if Im happy with that---wind noise and rear mud flaps (a must).... thats it so far..

This one's a fun thread. Hmm ... I got the tonneau, bed extender, and a couple other items when I bought the truck initially, so I'm not sure that counts. My first after market item was actually the side steps and brush bar, which were purchased the a couple weeks later but each on the same day as the other. I've not stopped buying stuff since ... in fact I just ordered a set of Neoprene pads for the console, etc., about 5 minutes before I read this thread. :p

My trunk mat set was my first accessory purchase...

My first accessory was the OEM roof rack...I had it installed the day I got my RL.

First accessory -- rear mudflaps.
(Why the heck didn't they just include those as standard equipment?)
Second accessory -- black step tubes.
Third accessory -- Honda black grill.

I had the factory running boards, roof rack, and ignition kill installed by the dealer.

Next up should be an ipod adapter.

My first accessories were a Go Rhino hitch step and a Westin Bull Bar with drive lights. Both front and back bars are black. Oh yeah...can't forget my ROC.com sticker!:p

You underestimated my perserverance and dedication to the task! :p Plus, now that I've got my beyootiful chrome nerf bars mounted, that spot behind them really sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb. :eek:

BIGGUY gets confused and his memory isn't so good. Of course what he meant is that we bought the RTL Navi which already has the moon roof. About a week after our purchase we had to surrender it overnight to have the OEM roof rack, running boards and backup camera added.

Our first project was the building of our doggie deck. We had been designing that in our heads while waiting for our truck to arrive. That was priority number one so our pooches would have a place to raise. We put on the rear mud guards, air deflector, and the rest of the string of add-ons since.

We went OEM on the running boards because we wanted the black accent. There weren't many choices for aftermarket at the time we bought our truck.

I didn't like the OEM body side moldings for a long time, until I was able to see them in person. Now I like them a lot.

We've added a combination of OEM and aftermarket. It all depended on the product and our own preferences.

Thankfully, we have run out of additions we want after getting our cool custom door sills from 5S Dude last April in Sedona. I could be persuaded to replace our cubby cover with a black powder coated one from Ron! I like that crinkle coating like our door sills and probably just plain with nothing engraved into it, hint, hint. Are you ready to sell those things yet??? :D

Most all accessories were installed when we picked up the Ridgeline in late Feb 07.
The first thing I got put on the week after pick-up was the tint.
I got the Hood Air Deflector Sunroof Visor & Window Visors in May of 07.
Now that I think about it I don't know when I got the little stick on mirriors from Autzonethey may have been put on the same week as the tint.

First accessory was a hitch. Second is one of those bug guard deals that attach in front of the hood - currently on order. Third will probably be the Yakima rack attachment for my 2 kayaks.

I agree I purchased the rear mud guards a week after my initial purchase of side steps, back seat under tray, cargo net.

I debated whether the truck looked better with or without the rear mud guards. After the first time I drove it in the rain, I purchased the rear mud guards. in Florida I will be driving in rain a lot.

I just purchased the Retrax today. Thanks for all the feedback to help make that purchase in other threads. I though about the leer cap, but I like the look of the truck without the leer cap better. Too bad we lose space in the bed with Retrax.

Damn I have spend some $$$ adding stuff and I have only had the truck for a little over a month. Those door sills from 5s dude are my next purchase. Hope he gets the machine up and running soon.

I bought my truck already pretty done out, with custom paint, booming audio system, 22" wheels and airbag suspension. What I've added in the past two weeks are pretty standard, but much needed stuff, rear mud flaps, Truxedo Pro cover, window vents, Hidden Hitch and trailer wiring. However, the first accessory I bought was a windshield cover from Honda, probably the only accessory I'll buy from the dealer.:D

I added a "protector" to go over my Ridgeline key and make it more unique. That and to distinguish it from any other Honda keys that might go on my key ring.

First was the bed mat, now I have the fog lights to install, possibly in a month or so, when I pull the front end out I want to have the grill painted formal black and the fog light inserts at the same time, and maybe the roof rack as well. Kinda BOB in the truck out.

ebay. And the covers are dirt cheap, too. Only $7 shipped. I have that one for my main key, and I ordered an identical one for my backup key. My parents just got a CR-V and it has an identical key to mine. If you want one, just search for "honda key cover," or something like that. Plus, it is easier to slide on then a condom and helps save the key.

Thanks djeaux.....she loves the back seat.....the day we came home from the hospital there was about 2"-4" of sleet on the ground and covering the streets. :eek::eek: Boy was I glad I had the RL!!! Did great and she slept the entire way home.
