New DD Unit

I had recently sold the Alpine 9855 because I wanted a DD unit and Navi. I opted for the Kenwood ddx-8017, it's a great unit for $650.00. It has great features such as crossover, time aligment, para eq and 5V out. A 2007 remotely mounted navi (Garmin KNA-G510) is on the way. Both units $1100.00.

I had to get a new dash kit because I threw away the DD trim ring when I installed the Alpine unit.

Thanks to tips from a couple people on here, I painted the new AI Kit SEM Graphite. The result wasn't perfect but It's way better than the black. The paint is very durable.

It came down to this one or the 6019. The 6019 was a better fit for my needs. Good luck and keep us updated with your installation.

that's right, no I will be on a cruise with my beautiful wife, and as much as I would like to connect with other ROC'ers I would definitely rather spend time with her cruising to Mexico for 5 days. :)

Edit: we have a timeshare that has places in Palm Springs and Indio that I have been wanting to get to, if we get out there in the near future I will try and see if we can connect.
