Thanks in advance! djeaux 02-18-2007, 08:41 PM Just in case you see one at a garage sale or flea market, the bed mat for a late model (1999-up) GMC or Chevy stepside is exactly the length of the RL bed from cab to tip of tailgate (down position) & is the right width... RRIDER 02-18-2007, 09:28 PM Anyone know of a good pre-cut bed mat for my Ridgeline? I have seen ProTecta for $90...but not many others. Thanks in advance! Did you check Truck Customizers? They are a sponsor here and also sell the protecta bed mat that fits the Ridgeline bed. They are good to deal with too. It is a heavy mat..I ordered from them shortly after buying my RL. Well worth the money. The Chevy/GMC mat mentioned doesn't fit around the wells like this one does. You should check them out at the link below. http://www.truckcustomizers.com/products/-BM-RM-IM/R4LRV4.1.html?vm=HO Chromehead 02-18-2007, 09:32 PM I just ordered the one mentioned above on Thursday, and it is supposed to arrive Moday. Seems like the most popular for the price, though there are some other options that are more expensive. Do a search on "bed Mat" and their are alot of threds that discuss bed mats, as well as some pics, etc. RRIDER 02-18-2007, 09:40 PM Here's a pic of my protecta bed mat. Divotfixer 02-18-2007, 09:46 PM I have the Protecta from TruckCustomizers. Paid $52.99 plus shipping. Works great. doc_cj 02-19-2007, 12:19 AM Anyone know of a good pre-cut bed mat for my Ridgeline? I have seen ProTecta for $90...but not many others. Thanks in advance! If you do a search you'll see a nice discussion on the bed mats. One thread is under Exterior, "Truck Bed Mat Anyone?" I posted in the thread after I ordered the Protecta mat from Truck Customizers (www.truckcustomizers.com). You need to be careful, I ordered the mat but ordered the wrong one. Fortunately the folks at Truck Customizers read my comments (I wanted the fitted mat) and caught my mistake. The called me to confirm my order, changed it to what I wanted, and got it out right away. There are two different mats ... one fitted and one not. You'll probably want the fitted mat, which I think is around $54. The mat looks good and fits well. It sure saves the bed as well. That dang Ridgeline coating is easy to scratch. The only negative is that I have to roll it out of the way to open the trunk and leave it open. That's not such a big deal, but if you've got your hands free and need the trunk lid to stay open then you have to roll the liner up a bit. Worth the effort, though. It is a bit pricey but it works in every way as advertised. And, the mat will not shift when loading and unloading heavy loads as some others will. This was one of my first purchases for the RL and I have no regrets. Good Luck. https://2694224993.monstercommercesites.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2 geotech 02-19-2007, 05:54 AM Try this one. It is a bit pricey but it works in every way as advertised. Good Luck. https://2694224993.monstercommercesites.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2 I can attest to the quality of the Murdock product. I carry tools, steel, boxes, etc. in the trunk and in the bed with no sign of wear. Light weight but durable. The weave pattern helps to keep things from rolling around too. I attached the tailgate protector with clear silicon caulk (and a little trimming) so it's always in place. The trimmed piece was used across the top of the gate (clear silicon caulk) and to line the glove box and the console. BTW, carry a 27" long piece of wood or small pvc pipe to prop the trunk open on the right side with the mat in place. Magoomba 02-19-2007, 08:18 AM I bought the Murdock Elemat as well. I had an issue with the tailgate protector. It had a small tear in it, where the cutout is for the cable that holds the tailgate in the lowered position. It ended up tearing half-way across the tailgate within a couple of days. I called them on it and they had a "bad batch". The good news is they are sending a replacement that's supposedly thicker and more durable. I love the way it slides under the liner in the bed to cover the space between the bed and tailgate. Great idea on the 27" stick:D . Do you happen to know if that's too long to use with a tonneau cover installed (the bed rail mounts don't allow the trunk to open all the way)? I guess I can measure:rolleyes: . meanmachine19 02-19-2007, 08:43 AM I got the Protecta skidguard mat shortly after buying the RL and before there was a custom size. I just trimmed it down and the width was perfect, but they don't carry it at that width. My friend AZ RIDGELINER! (Mike) also got the same mat.....and I've told this story on a previous thread....long story short.... Mike lost his mat on I-10 last year in CA on the way to the So Cal meet last March. Wind got under it and it took off into the median. I was lucky that mine didn't go as well. I've since 'secured' my mat....see attached. So heavier may be the way to go! scottIN 02-19-2007, 02:26 PM If you get the Murdoch one, you won't have to worry about it blowing out. :) You could lay this thing on the hood and it wouldn't blow off. It's thick. Another cool thing about the Murdoch is that you can take those milk crate / filing boxes and the tabs on the bottom stick right into the ridges - won't slide around at all. If the Protecta was available when I got my Murdoch, I might have taken a look at that price...but I'm also guessing there is a huge difference between the two. SHUEY027 02-19-2007, 02:54 PM I won a bed mat at the Ridge Run in July and I like it alot, short of having to push it back to get into the trunk. It has hole cut in for the tie downs in the bed. I can't remember who the maker was, I will have to e-mail T-mac for the info. When it stops snowing and/or raining I will take a picture of it and post it for you(hopefully by the end of the week):) jakemanoo7 02-19-2007, 06:32 PM Thanks everyone. I went with the ProTecta from Truck Customizers. I only saw one choice for the Ridge, so I assume that is the fitted version. Again, thanks! Chromehead 02-19-2007, 07:17 PM Got mine today, and it seems to be pretty heavy duty, especially for the price. I am not sure how the thing could blow out as it is also heavy weight wise, but I may do the mod mentioned above just in case. VT RAIDER 02-20-2007, 09:49 AM I purchased the trunk mat by Murdock... I love the product as well... I think it is definitely worth the money... When I was looking, it was highly recommended by many members of the ROC... jakemanoo7 02-25-2007, 10:05 AM I received my ProTecta bed mat from Truck Customizers (http://www.truckcustomizers.com) on Friday. Excellent service and perfect bed mat. I like the photos of using clips to secure the mat to the tie downs....just in case you get a huge gust of wind....even though the mat is heavy. I may look into putting some plastic grommets in the corners vs. just cutting a hole. Once completed, I will add photos. Chromehead 02-26-2007, 09:06 AM I've since 'secured' my mat....see attached. MeanMachine, Installed my bed mat this weekend, and used your idea for securing it. The only thing I did different was I did attach grommets in the holes I drilled, as I had these in the garage from another project (another thing picked up at Harbor Freight I knew i would eventually use :D ) I did not have the carabiner clips however, so I just used black nylon zip ties. Worked well, and gives me a piece of mind it will not blow out. Only thing is I wish they would have cut the bed liner longer to go all of the way to the end of the bed, and not just where the in bed "drain tracks" stop. Oh well, for the price it was right. Thanks ! Dania 02-26-2007, 03:58 PM Don't forget Murdock Elemat is a forum sponsor and gives 10% discount for the ROC members. The discount coupon is ROC10, if I remember correctly. I have had one and worth the $$$ ONDLINKS 03-08-2007, 07:53 PM So the mat is flexible enough just to roll it up enough to get to the trunk? Absolutly! The mat needs to be trimed a little, as it lays under the back tie down cleats. Just about 3/4" by 1'' on each side so the mat doesn't hit the cleats on the roll up. No big deal, I used sheet metal shears to cut the mat, a razor knife will work too..... jakemanoo7 03-08-2007, 08:05 PM Go with the ProTecta. Perfect mat and an awesome price. | |
