Would be a heck of a road trip from RI, 18 hours, but maybe if we can get a New England group together we could make a big caravan.

Brich and OzNative, you guys in?

I'd love to but the mileage would put me over the lease. I'm guessing 2000 miles round trip with the extra driving around St. Louis from upstate New York. Can't wait to see pics though:)

My wife spent the entire month of October in the hospital in St. Louis, she had some complications with her pregnancy while we were at a wedding down there. I doubt I will make the drive again, I think I drove back and forth 4 times in a month and anyone who drives through Illinois knows it is quite possibly one of the most boring rides in the country. Anyone who does go and is Italian like me, must visit "The Hill", which is where a lot of Italian restaurants and shops are. Adriana's on the Hill is a great place for lunch. They have the best Italian sausage sandwich that I have ever had, if you like those at all. Enjoy the trip.

The Sammy's sound enticing... But
I have a little one due in May so long road trips this summer are probably out for me. I do expect to get a couple regional get togethers going though. As much as an 18 hour Ridgeline caravan would be a blast... Heck, never say never... :D however, unlikely.... :(

I'm in!!!

Seeing as it is MY hometown I kinda have to.
I'm working with T Mac to get some things together for it.
If anyone has some ideas, or things they would like to do PM me and I'll check to see if it is a possibility.

Can't wait to see who can make it, 2006 was great but I'm hoping 2007 will be even better.

Have you guys ever thought of hosting a meet at the Honda plant in Alliston,Ont? Bimmer car clubs plan annual trips to Spartansburg,NC and get the royal treatment from BMW including plant tours, lunch and goodie bags. Just a thought...

Jforget1, I'll be in your neck of the woods on May 19/20 for the annual Porsche Club of America's Zone 1 Concours d'Elegance. Newport,RI was chosen as this year's location. It would be fun to see you there!

Shorty and Boo will be there for sure!!!! I need campground arrangements with fullhook-up if possible. Just purchased a Trailmanor trailer and we are ready to roll. 63Tbird and CUINARIDGE you know what we did last year, so let's turn this party out. I need to know if there is a beer drive thru in the area....I got plans :D.

Definitely going to try to get down there for a day (only a 2-hr drive for me), but Moonlight Ramble is the next weekend and that's been an annual event in the past for us.

I'm going to do some looking, but where in StL is this going to be? Would the Saturday or Sunday be the better day to attend?

Hey SHORTY

glad that you will be coming in!!!
I'm looking for camping sites around the area right now and will hopefully have some decent options soon. Once we get everything together I'll start a thread with contact info. I'll look and see if there is a drive thru but I'm not sure if there are any within the city or county. We got rid of most of them 5-6 years ago.

Freddie where are you coming in from???

Agreed that Saturday is the best day if you are looking for a "day" to attend. We will have an official hotel (announced soon) and that's where we'll have a event registration, truck show, prize drawing, etc.

We will probably have a couple group activities (the truck show and prizes, for example) but everything is optional. These meets are best when you can do the group thing if you want, but if you want to go explore the city on your own, you can do that too.

Been to St. Louis before but, new to the Ridgeline Crew.

Why should I go? What is it all about?

Why should I go? What is it all about?

It's a chance to hang out over a weekend with owners and members of the ROC from all over the country. It's basically an open weekend with one or two scheduled events that the group participates in together - as a group. For example, we'll have a drawing for prizes at a truck show we'll have on Saturday morning. But there are lots of things to do in St. Louis in small groups (or big)...depending on how you feel when you get there.

For pics of last year's meet in Columbus/Marysville, Ohio - LOOK HERE (http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8943). Gary Flint, chief engineer for the Ridgeline, spent most of Saturday with us and even gave us a presentation.

Looks like about 8 hours from Rochester, MN8 hrs is not bad. Google maps says that you are at 455 miles

Baton Rouge, LA is 663 miles and I guestimate 10 hrs. (I usually travel at 77 mph... heheh not an admission of guilt)

I know that 600 mi takes me just under 9 hr, with stops to sit and grab a burger, a couple of rest areas and a gas stop

It's all 55 MPH or less all the way from Rochester to St. Louis. No interstate.

But....... the Ridgeline is a pleasure to drive so.... not an issue.

Not necessarily. I don't know about the rest of the road, but Hwy 61 in Missouri from north of Hannibal all the way to St. Louis is either 65 or 70, and 4 lane.....

That I could believe, it's been about 10 years since I drove down that way. The speed limit likely changed but, I'm thinking Iowa Speed Limit didn't change.

YOu might want to ask CuINARidge he's from Wis. and came last year. Might know depending on the way he came.

BTW Iowa law was amended in 1996 to authorize the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) to increase speed limits to 65 mph on certain divided multi-lane highways. Got it off the web.

MY ROUTE66 program has My place to Your town at the Unversity of MN by the Fastest route (over into Wis then stright down to Springfield IL then to STL) at 8hrs 22min. Shortest route at 10hrs 5 min. Mind you that I have to set the computer for Speed limits. I said 70mph for fastest and went down from ther based on type of road.

hope this helps. Last year STL to Alum Creek was 7hrs 49min - 457 miles for me.

Just an FYI our Strassenfest will be held that weekend downtown. They usually take over part of Kiener Plaza and several streets to the west. Pretty good time and GREAT FOOD.
