wow, i have no brake dust issues on my Ridge, and i consider myself ontop of cleaning my Ridge, when i wash it every week and or wipe it down, middle of the week, there is hardly any brake dust on the rims. I was under the impression that the Ridge has ceramic pads and that is thre reason that almost no brake dust is on the rims.

Ive only had mine 2 weeks but there was a good bit on all four wheels after the first 300 miles. Maybe it was because they were new ?
btw , i promise im not hard on the brakes

My brakes did the same thing for about the first 2000 miles. They don't put off much dust right now.

I have had mine a week and 1/2, and just did the first wash on it today to get road salt off of it. My fronts had considerable brake dust on them, rear a little, but with the RTX rims it does not show up as much :D

I only have about 260 miles on it at the present.

Very minimal brake dust on mine since the road salt covers everything!!

Seriously speaking, the brake dust is definitely not an issue with either my factory stock mags or my Fooses. I do remember reading somewhere that the "KleenWheels" covers actually raise the rotor temps during summer months which may aid in brake fade and result in reduced braking distance. Not my cup of tea.

I remember I read somewhere that brake dust shields are actually harmful. Can't remember why. Possibly because brakes loose some ventilation ability and heat up more. Not sure though.

Speaking of brake dust....why do $100,000 Mercedes and BMW's have that browny brake dust covered front mags....its like all of them have this. You would think for the price of the vehicle this issue would not be that apparent. Sorry for stealng the thread.:D

Brake dust shields can cause overheating of the brakes.
