ProfessorTomoe 02-23-2007, 12:43 AM I believe we're going to have to postpone the D/FW Ridgeline Buff & Breakfast meet that was scheduled for Saturday morning (2/24/07). The forecasts are calling for some heavy storms to start rolling through the area tonight through mid-day Saturday. Kind of hard to get one's Ridgeline washed in that sort of weather. :(
What do you think about pushing things back two weeks, until Saturday morning, March 10th at 8:00 a.m.? We could still hold it at the Forest Car Wash and Detail (http://www.forestcarwash.com) near Forest Lane and the Dallas North Tollway and then gather at Kel's Restaurant nearby afterwards (or during, depending on how long the car washes take).
Please let me know if this sounds acceptable. Thanks!
MikeT 02-23-2007, 05:52 AM Hey, if we bring our soap, mother nature will bring the water!!!
Who wants to bring the golf clubs?
To answer the question, two weeks is fine with me!
Divotfixer 02-23-2007, 07:43 AM If I could figure a way to get my RL to Texas I would be there, but alas the airline has a 50 pound baggage limit. I was in Dallas first part of this week and had to drive to Mena, AR and back (long story). 10 hours in a Chevy rental about drove me insane. Was happy to get back to the RL.
I'll make a note to wash my truck on the 10th so I can be with you guys in spirit... :D
wannaRTL 02-23-2007, 08:32 AM Are we sure we want to cancel? The rain is supposed to end by 6:00am. If we delay till the 10th, I may have to miss, I have committments that day already. Bummer for me. :(
havinfun 02-23-2007, 07:04 PM Right on Right on!

The rain end time keeps moving back with every forecast I see. The National Weather Service is now calling for it to end sometime Saturday afternoon. I do believe the morning will be rained out.
Does anyone else have a problem with the 10th? If so, we might want to consider another day instead.
MikeT 02-23-2007, 09:42 PM Unless my work schedule changes, any Saturday will work for me!
wannaRTL 02-26-2007, 06:32 AM Some duststorm eh? Did any body meet? I of course didn't make it, because last I heard, we were still cancelled. Is it the 10th then?
CK
I'll definitely try to make it on the 10th. I was in Vegas last weekend so I'm glad that the meeting was rescheduled.
ProfessorTomoe 02-28-2007, 12:09 AM As it stands right now, it's still the 10th at the time and location mentioned at the top of this thread. Keep your fingers crossed that no more dust storms blow through the area on that day. :p

Hey I was in Sherman when that storm blew through. Wow was that a mess. Still have some dust on the ridge from it. So I guess I can wait till the tenth to get it super clean. I did run it through a touchless, but the wash didnt removed it all. I guess what I am trying to say is that excluding any emergency at the hospital I will definately try to make the B&B on the 10th.
Oh and BTW did I mention I made it to Texas!:)
ProfessorTomoe 03-04-2007, 09:34 PM Glad to have you! I'm keeping a close eye on the weather for this coming Saturday, BTW. No more dust storms!!! :p

Yikes! 8:00 a.m.? Considering I'm driving from South Fort Worth/Crowley, that's a bit early for me. I'll try to make it but I can pretty much guarantee that I will be late.
ProfessorTomoe 03-07-2007, 11:16 PM Yep, it's pretty early - that's why we're calling it a "Buff & Breakfast" meet. :D Plenty of coffee should be available at the nearby restaurant.
How many people do we have so far? It looks like the weather's going to hold together this time, so barring catastrophe we're definitely on for this weekend.

havinfun 03-08-2007, 07:07 PM Is anyone interested in purchasing an original set of stock wheels...i.e. rims, tires, balanced and less than 100 miles?
I plan to bring them to this Forest lane event Saturday if I can find a taker.
Cheers!

Divotfixer 03-09-2007, 08:37 AM Somebody remember to take pictures of all those beautiful RLs...
ProfessorTomoe 03-09-2007, 11:44 AM I will be there with camera in hand. Someone make sure I'm not the only one taking pictures, please? :D
RidgeDOC 03-11-2007, 12:26 PM Ok well its 3/11 and of course I missed the Buff and breakfast.
How was it? how many? details etc...
Sorry, but I had a very sick patient in ICU and am really the only surgeon in town, so its hard for me to get away.
Hope you all had fun and I wil try to make it to a meet in the future, but I suppose I will have to have a longer time to plan and get coverage for the hospital.
Post your pics sometime soon though professor!

I forgot my camera, but I was there!
Three of us showed up; Havinfun, ProfessorToMoe, myself and my youngest son showed up. My son Noah and I were thirty minutes late due to Loop 12 (Highway) being closed. Once there ProfessorToMoe and Havinfun were great! The car wash guys did a fantastic job making the Ridges look thier best. Since only three of us showed and Havinfun had to work, this was a somewhat shortened meet. After Havinfun departed for work, ProfessorToMoe, Noah, and I had a great breakfast at Kel's. We had a great time, too bad more of us did not make an appearence. ProfessoerToMoe took pics so hopefully he will post them in the near future.
Thanks for the update and I'm glad that a few made it.
My kids decided it was zoo day and I didn't have time to do both. Even though I was really looking forward to meeting everyone...I will say that once I found out that I couldn't make it, I was relieved to know that I didn't have to get up at 5:00 a.m. on a Sat. Then again...I hung out with 50 gajillion other people that thought it was a good day to go to the zoo, and this was the only animal that I saw that wasn't sound asleep. Then to top it off, I still have a dirty truck!
Hopefully, we can all try to get together another time.
