Still thrilled

I've had my blue RTL for 12 days now and am still amazed at this vehicle. As others have stated in this forum, the head turning and questions from total strangers after I park or am getting fuel is really wild. This must be what it's like to drive a classic historical car without all the headaches old cars can present. I added the trailer hitch and harness before I took delivery. Today I had the running boards installed and bought the 6/100000/0 Honda care warranty. My rear mudflaps arrived yesterday from Handa Acces. and I put those on myself today. Those mudflaps are really necessary, I'm surprised Honda stopped at only the fronts.I hope someone can help with a question about the climate control...I use the AUTO function alot but every time i start the truck up I have to press the Auto button again. Is this normal or am I missing something. My Oddesy always stayed on Auto even after re-starting. Also,my bed and trunk scratch just as easily as everyone else's does here at ROC - I cut to fit an old but very tough Toyota Tacoma rubber bed mat my brother no longer needed. Works great. This XM is fantastic! I'm stuck in the 70's! Stayin' Alive!

3+ months and 11,184 miles and I'm still thrilled to drive Lady Ridgina!! Everytime I walk back to her from somewhere I always say, "Isn't she perdy??" :D I don't think the thrill will end too soon. :)

A month and a half and 3700+ miles. The wife says it rides better than her Accord (and, of course, I agree)! :D

Two months and 4500 miles here, and it is just as thrilling now to climb behind the wheel as it was the first day.

Five and a half weeks, 2225 miles and totally in love with our truck. I feel special everytime we ride around in it. I don't know when this will wear off. I've never been so delighted with any vehicle I've owned and I've loved several of them.

I am in my 1 ton GMC work van loaded with built in carpet cleaning equipment about 2000 lbs worth at least 4 days a week. You cannot imagine the thrill I get come the weekend and I can climb in and just drive around for the heluvit. This is the first time in over 20 years I have had a "personal" vehicle to drive, and what a vehicle!!

I'm at 4700 miles, with 30% oil life left on the break-in oil, getting 19-20mpg in city driving. I enjoy driving my Ridgeline every chance I get. I have yet to take it on a long highway jaunt, take it off road, or tow a trailer, but that will come with time.

The thing that will make the final connection for me will be how it handles the upcoming winter snow, slop, and ice. If it gets me through some tight spots then that will close the deal with me.

Almost 3 weeks and 1100 miles later...can't wait to get in and drive every day...AND I've finally stopped turning the wipers on instead of the headlights!! :p

I just broke the 1,000 mile mark, and I'll 2nd (3rd, 4th, 5th?) the feelings expressed by all of you. This is the most fun I've had with a vehicle in 30 years of driving. It's even brought my teens back into the family a little since we can now use the RL for getting to some cool bike trails. My son wants to ride just to enjoy the XM!

As to your Auto AC question, I assume it's normal. I have to touch my AC AUTO button each time too.

5 Weeks and it is the highlight of my day. Everytime I walk out to the parking lot I get a thrill when I see her. I never have felt this way about a vehicle.

I am glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way. It's almost as if "I'm in love with this truck" for lack of a better explaination.

I forgot to mention in my previous reply regarding the AUTO climate...Every time I start the truck it is ON as I left it. I never have to re-push it. Hope this helps.

I was just admiring my truck looking through the window here at work. About 6 weeks and 1150 miles and I too look forward to driving it. I don't really notice other people's reaction to it although my 15 y.o. daughter described it as "Pimpin' " which in her circle is a compliment.

The last time I felt this way about one of my vehicles was my '87 Civic CRX. There isn't a minute in the day that I don't think about what a great purchase I made and I could drive this thing all day long. It puts a smile on my face even on the most stressful days.

Having owned a new '85 black CRX-Si, I understand completely. ;)
