I know... iPod has been beaten to death

I just got my 2007 Ridgeline RTS this past Saturday and have put on about 250 miles just with in-city driving and commuting to work. I have MANY things planned but on the top of the list is iPod control.

In the Tundra I traded in I had an Alpine CDA-9856 after market stereo with iPod control. I miss it a lot, but the RTS' stock stereo system is a great stock system and I love the in-dash 6 CD changer. I'd like to eventually add on XM radio AND iPod control. I do know of USA-SPEC adapters as I had a unit similar to one in my Tundra before the Alpine deck.

I'm glad I didn't get Honda's unit because I had a bad feeling about it before checking it off on the accessory list. I want a system that could read the iPod and display basic screen information like track and artist and be able to search by playlist. I really do no want to replace the stock system for a change.

The best bet is to change the head unit. You won't get what you're looking for from Honda.

The harman/kardon iDrive looks reasonable.

I know of the Harmon device, and although sound, just doesn't seem to work for me. I don't want a lot of added on equipment and want to keep the cab streamlined and neat.

That, is almost an oxymoron considering I removed my Tundra's external GPS system and would LOVE to mount it somewhere.
