How is the viewing angle with the Honda factory rear DVD on the RTL with sunroof?
Question: HONDA IVES (rear dvd) w/sunrooflion80 03-20-2007, 02:37 PM How is the viewing angle with the Honda factory rear DVD on the RTL with sunroof? Raplon 03-25-2007, 08:43 AM As far as I understand, the mounting position is the same for both sunroof and no sunroof RLs. I find the angle totally acceptable. ChrisM 03-25-2007, 09:39 AM How is the viewing angle with the Honda factory rear DVD on the RTL with sunroof? Does anyone actually own the OEM DVD system besides Gary Flint? His truck contains the only one I have ever seen. It's wayyyyyy too expensive IMHO. I can point you to an aftermarket unit for less than $300 that matches the tan interior that has a built in DVD player. All you have to do is run power. gweppy 03-25-2007, 10:56 AM tell me more beepbill23 03-25-2007, 12:45 PM i own the OEM honda dvd res system and i must say, i think it is much too much in $$$. But, in the likes of the honda name and the additions, that was the only reason why i got it. But, as far as purpose of use, I dont know if anyone else has the same issue or problem but the DVD player under the arm rest seems to heat up quite a BIT in about 30 mins of use and starts skipping the DVD once in a while. At 1 time in point, i think it stopped playing for a bit. i think it was due to the HEAT, and this was during the WINTER time as well. Any others with the OEM DVD player system experiencing problems or anything different? beepbill23 03-25-2007, 12:54 PM How is the viewing angle with the Honda factory rear DVD on the RTL with sunroof? The viewing angle is quite nice. My 14 month old nephew LOVEs the DVD system. in his car seat, he can see the screen just fine. He says "Doob bee doop" when he wants to see a movie(elmo or einsteins). However, as noted about the problematic situations, i also have a few portable DVD players that play just about EVERYTHING and have the 12v. set up. i set it on the back seat or in the CENTER compartment with the VIDEO/AUDIO Input hookup and play it from the portable source. Also, being that said, its much easier to control if im the only controller in the ridge and no adult in the rear seat. The OEM setup has you only being able to use the REMOTE in the back seat with the IR sensors. My portable dvd player has a remote setup, but also i can control the functions right on the unit as well, at the tip of my fingers by the driver's SEAT! Just for insight, if you think about, DONT get the OEM dvd player. UNLESS you add it on while making the purchase for financing reasons(which i did). The unit is under warrantee for the 36mo/36,ooo miles since i purchased the entertainment system with the ridge at time of purchase. The standard warrantee would have been 12/12 if bought after purchase of ridge. Same went with the Rear camera, Roof Rack, Tow package, Fog Lights, and Bed Cover. All under the Entire Warrantee of 36/36. Made my fianancing better that way. infinity38s45 03-25-2007, 07:37 PM i bought dvd roofmount on ebay this morning it is all in one system... 9.2 ROOFMOUNT CAR DVD + TV W/ IR USB VGA FM TRANS This item is loaded with features that we have not seen in a screen before.
