helping women rehabilitating from cancer please read on. For those who don't know I run the forum called the Classic Fly Rod Forum (http://p205.ezboard.com/bclarksclassicflyrodforum) which specializes in bamboo fly rods and vintage tackle. I have also been involved in several fund raising events for a non profit organization called Casting for Recovery (http://www.castingforrecovery.org/) which helps women rehabilitating from breast cancer by teaching them to fly cast and fly fish which has a sense of healing oneself.

The Classic Fly Rod Forum was recently honored by Argentine rod maker Marcelo Calviello who built a gorgeous presentation grade rod for the forum to use as a fund raiser. We discussed the rods fate and felt that Marcelo built the rod for the purpose of gratitude, i.e. giving something back to the forum for what he felt the forum had given to him in the past few years. We felt the gratitude and giving back was very special so we decided to donate the rod to Casting for Recovery to raffle off to help them with their fund raising efforts for the excellent work they provide.

This is a one of a kind presentation rod made for the Classic Fly Rod Forum by Argentine rod maker Marcelo Caviello of Calviello & Trucco Rods. It is made of native Argentine Cane and utilizes a proprietary all bamboo ferrule system designed by Marcelo he calls BoB's. I have contacted Kats (Katya Bowen is a rehabilitation specialist who volunteers as an instructor with CfR) and we have spoken about the rod, and several other ideas to go with it that will be announced as they happen. Katya and I will be speaking with CfR's Director, Seline Skoug, this week and more details about the fund raiser will be announced.

I just started fly fishing and I am hooked (excuse the pun). I would be there if I could but I live in MN. I would appreciate any sites that can help me learn the art of casting. Good luck with your event.

Shoot me an email if you can think of anything that will help me become a better fly fisherman.

I would see if there is a local chapter of Trout Unlimited in your area, a Fish & Game Club, Adult Education and of course Fly Shops. All of these venue's often offer Fly Casting lessons and more. I learned to cast from a video as part of rehabilitation from a neurological disorder called Guillane Barre' Syndrome so I know the healing quality of fly fishing first hand myself.
