XM Question Install Question

Just a thought, I have an 06 RTL s/r and factory XM. I have replaced my head unit to one that is XM ready. Is there any possible way to use the factory XM tuner with this new HU? I'm guessing there's not, but before I spring for a pioneer tuner I thought I would ask.

You might be able to hack something up, but you won't get the Pioneer HU integration without using the Pioneer XM tuner. You'll need a tuner that supports the Pioneer bus (AI-Net if I remember correctly). They're not that expensive, and you might be able to sell your OEM XM tuner here to offset the cost.

That's what I figured, just trying to be cheap.

The option I went with is the Roady XT - used the 3.5mm out on the Roady to the 3.5mm Aux In on the P590IB HU. Works great!

Where in the world did you get information on that HU? LOL :)

I am really enjoying that Pioneer HU. It's amazing the control that you have with it. Nice not to have to have any external crossover and such.
