Sedona, Friday (the 13th) mini-adventure B4 meet, drive to Jerome

We are getting to Sedona Thursday night to allow us an extra day to see some things we weren't able to see last year. CDI'ER is going to help show us around. I want to see Jerome.

I want this to be a reminder for those of you sitting on the fence, come down to the meet! It will be fun. Those of you in S. Utah or the Vegas area could make it. You AZ folks really should get connected with Kevin and the other Ridgeline enthusiasts in AZ.

Is there anyone else getting there a day early, or already in town, who wants to join us on the run to Jerome? :D No meeting time or destination has been set yet. PM or email me and we'll exchange cell numbers.

Truckin', if you go to Jerome, the 'Haunted Hamburger' is a restaurant owned by the same owners of the Tavern Grille and Nic's Restaurant (we all went to Tavern Grille last year on the eve of the meet).

I was told there is a very nice dirt road just to the right of the entrance to the 'ghost' town. It leads to Perkinsville. This is a trail I have not tried yet and we probably won't be taking on Saturday. So if you feel adventurous, give it a whirl!

Sorry I can't be there on Friday, but I will be working (all day in Sedona) so call me. I'll stop by and say hi. If you are in Thursday before 6, call me.

So are you working till 6 Thursday and Friday? I hope to make it before then. Last year I think we got to town about 4:30. We'll aim for an early start again since we're driving straight through to get there. I'm guessing we're going to be game for dinner on Friday night. We got a kitchenette at the ranch, which I think just means a fridge and a microwave. I don't intend to do much meal preparation on our trip, maybe sandwiches for the road, but I just remembered that yummy sandwich shop you recommended last year. Nah, I think we'll be eating out a lot.

A javelina is a creature similar to a wild boar - but there's certainly nothing "boar"ing about this lively, colorful cantina. Decorated in a bright Mexican motif, this restaurant is loud and filled with local charm. Choices are primarily Sonoran, with an Arizona accent. Combination plates of tacos, enchiladas and chimichangas are filling and flavorful. Lunch and dinner are served daily and it's Happy Hour from 3p-6p daily. Dinners are priced from USD8-16, Margaritas from USD5-7. Live music is featured on Saturday evenings.

Those who want to tag along on Friday are welcome to join us. We'll start the day with breakfast at the Airport restaurant. Be there at 8 AM, we'll eat and figure out where to go from there.

If you can't make it for breakfast and still want to be part of the adventure, you'll have to take your chances that we are within cell phone range. You could try calling to find out where we are and match up with us as you can.

Here's a map. Turn south at the blue arrow on Airport Drive and go all the way up the hill past Sky Ranch Lodge. You will get to the airport and the restaurant is easy to spot.

I got to meet up with Truckin/Bigguy, Ahah and CDI'er this morning for breakfast before their journey to Jerome and Prescott. It was nice to finally put faces to the names for those I haven't met yet.

We will likely meet up for dinner tonight after Twintym and 5SDude get to town. They were in the Phoenix area and having lunch when I spoke with Twintym.

I am sure Truckin' will be posting many pics when they return home! :D

Wow, looks and sounds like y'all have had fun. Damn health. I hope to get better and get back to a normal life so I can get to some meets and even Sedona NEXT year. Please, post some more pictures when y'all get 'em! Can't wait to see them!
