Hey I just bought a Honda OEM towing package for my week old RTL,I Installed the hitch and the wiring harness, and also put the 5 fuses in the subfuse box. I cannot get any trailer lights to work. I checked and rechecked all the fuses in both fuse boxes and checked the pin connector at the hitch. has anyone run into this problem. Thanks

Amp,
I was just reading the instructions fo hooking up a tow hitch because I will probably put one on later.
You did not mention wether you performed the necessary work under the dash.......did you?

Hey Jim, Your right you have to put the control box and the jumper wire with the two relays and the third relay with the 3 existing relays under the dash board. I was told by a honda tech that this wasn't required if I was not going to use a electric trailer brake, I was misled by this bogus info. Now I have trailer lights. Thanks.

Hey Jim, I hauling a 17' Crestliner W/ 50hp Evinrude That I've been fishing with for 19 years on the Hudson River, Out Of Ossining N.Y. and The Western Sound out of New Rochelle and Mamaroneck N.Y. By the way my truck is the same as yours Amberdeen green RTL. How long have you had your truck and what pros or cons you have with it? Joe.

Joe,
Excellent, I love to fish.
Well I was originally looking into an RL RTX model which came with the tow package installed....because I was gonna buy a new Key West 1720 Center Console with Yamaha 90 hp motor. I'm about 45-50 miles from Atlantic Ocean and bays, Delaware Bay. But I decided to wait on the boat until my son decides what he is going to do about college.
So Instead of the RTX I got the RTL (w/o Nav) figuring I could always add the tow package later. I am new to the boating world and did not want to jump in to soon without doing some research. I am taking the NJ State Safe Boating course at the end of this month, then I'll have my certificate and perhaps know a little more about what I need.
So far I love my RTL. Just got it on 3/31/07. Only has about 150 miles on it. I am finding that there are a lot of OEM after-market kits available. I have already ordered the side molding and had the door edge guards installed along with Lo-Jack. It is not my daily driver since I have a company truck I drive during the day.
Cons: Well I wish the steering wheel was telescoping. It just seems to far away. The RTL should have onboard computer to figure out estimated mpg and miles remaining. And I think the stereo should accept mp3, wav, and have a seperate aux. input for lets say an Ipod. And while I am at it the radio is a far reach too. The above is more of a wish list than anything else, but I still love the truck. There is nothing else out there liike it.
How about you? How long have you had your RTL and what do you think of it?

Hey Jim, I only have it 2 weeks, so we are in this at same time with these trucks. I agree with everything you mentioned. by the the way my Honda dealer wants $214.00 for the mp3 accessory jack plus installation, that seams like alot of money just to play an IPOD. Well I hope we have goodluck with our trucks. Joe
