djeaux 04-30-2007, 08:52 PM I know I've mentioned having a Ridge Run to coincide with Cruisin' the Coast next fall. I might also throw out that the City of Gulfport is reportedly in negotiations with IRL to have an Indy Car race at Jones Park (on the beach). As everyone probably knows, Honda builds all the engines for IRL now & the Ridgeline is the official truck of IRL. That might be a fun run, too...
 Crawfordville, Fl- 20 miles from the Gulf5 miles as the bird flies. The one thing I disliked about C'ville and that area... no real beach, except Alligator point. Is that Pizza place still open in the Winn Dixie plaza? Is Winn Dixie still there? When they finish widening 319, then you'll have a nice drive into Tallahassee. Then again, once all of those housing communities get developed, you'll be back where it is now! LOL

djeaux 05-01-2007, 07:19 AM I hadn't thought of this before, but Natchez might be a cool place for a run. There's casinos, the famous antebellum mansions & of course the Natchez Trace Parkway (gorgeous) or Highway 61 (the blues highway) for a little excursion.
Emerald Mound would be a great place for a photo op, as would the ruins of Windsor up near Port Gibson.
Just musing... And now, I owe, I owe, so off to work I go...

Emerald Mound would be a great place for a photo op, as would the ruins of Windsor up near Port Gibson. There are some antiques shops in Natchez as well. I would expect some big purchases with a bunch of trucks there.
Another photo op in Natchez is at the bottom of a step downhill paved road that takes you to river water level. The Natchez tourism center is nice too.
Too bad we missed the Angola Prison Rodeo, that is fun. I went to it in October.

Now there is where you should buy woodwork.. some of it is just art. What is neat, you can bargain price with the convicts. If you can hold off purchasing until the end of the day, they drop prices A LOT! Less money in their pocket is better than no money! As the convicts get to keep 100% of what they sell. Plus the rodeo is amazing, not like the professional rodeos, WAY better as these guys go all out.

Well, how about doing a reverse on those damyankees -- tell 'em how much better they do it down South! (At least you can tell 'em how much better the girls did it down South! Oops! )
Be careful, Keith. It was great to get together with you on those couple of runs & install your K&N intake last winter.

Cajun Country Ridgeline 12-07-2007, 09:40 PM We need to get more people from Lafayette up and members ROC.
We only have three showing from the La. Roster of Gulf Coast Region.
I see at least 3 Ridgelines per day and have not seen on ROC sticker. I had the first Ridgeline in SW La. maybe in the state, purchased 04/27/2005.
I see them everywhere and I usually leave the ROC brochure if I get close to them.
It is really great to see how the Gulf Coast area has grown and thanks to K757

djeaux 07-08-2009, 04:36 PM I hope all of y'all will consider joining the Gulf Coast ROC group for a get-together at the Abita Springs Brew Pub on July 25. The Brew Pub is a very good restaurant -- we had a mini-meet there a couple of years ago, took the brewery tour, etc. It was fun. And if you are a bicyclist, Abita Springs has a very cool rails-to-trails that runs right past the restaurant.
Tony (Ridgeline2006) is the main mover and shaker for this gathering, so keep an eye here for details. Hope to see you there!

djeaux 07-08-2009, 06:57 PM Hey djeaux, how far is that from Hendersonville, NC?!?
646 miles, according to MapQuest. Add a couple of miles to get you to wherever MQ decided to start measuring & add a couple to get from I-12 to the brew pub & you're right at 650 miles. Start packing!

BLK RTS LSU CM 10-07-2009, 07:16 PM I'm back in cajun country!!!
Sure isn't the way I left it in 2004!?!
I bought the RL in Sandusky, OH in 2006... from there she's been in Waco, TX for the last 3 yr's where there are ZERO ROCers.
I went to a meet in DFW with MikeT, Shortspark, Outfitter and OwnerCS. These guys are prime examples why the ROC thrives...Good people, camaraderie and sweet trucks.
Anyway, I hope run across a few ROCers in Baton Rouge.
starfixer 10-07-2009, 10:27 PM cool maybe can catch up with you as I am a short ride from you... :)

Cajun Country Ridgeline 11-14-2009, 07:10 PM It looks like RTLAI009 in Broussard, La. and MoJoRidge in Youngsville are next door neighbors to me.
I have a Lafayette address on the Youngsville Hwy and use to have a Broussard phone number which changed when I went to Vonage.
Starfish is in Lafayette also.
I see at least 3-4 Ridgelines everyday that I am out.
We ought to have a Lafayette Area ROC and at least have coffee once in a while.:D:D
