Ok...we've finalized the date, but just need to choose the day. June 2nd or 3rd? Saturday or Sunday. Ok SoCaL ROCs lets choose the day to meet. The location is Malibu, CA Paradise Cove. It's month away, but next thing you all know, it will all be just around the weekend.

Well, it seems, this GTG chillin in Malibu will be happening in Sunday, it seems that there's more people opting for sunday than Saturday & Less likely people will be working on Sunday than Saturday.

The Date is Finalized, Malibu Meet June 2nd Sunday. I will talk it over with Ridgegal & Jago to see what time will be a good time to meet up? What do you all think? 8 or 9 am in the morning, we can then hangout, get grill cooking and do or not do any activities alll day :D

Lets all meet there at 9am

Location:
28128 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265

Paradise Cove Road and Pacific Coast Highway

FYI: Parking: All cars are $20.00. Walk in fees are $5.00. If you eat at the Paradise Cove Restaurant on the beach, you will get free parking validation for three hours. Private Beach, with Very Clean Restrooms & shower stalls

Paradise Cove Restaurant Phone# : (310) 457-2511

As stated we can eat at the restaurant or we grill our food there too, they have stationary grills similar to park bbq grills. But Miguel, you are more than welcome to bring your famous tank of a grill with you to grill.:D

I believe its $20 to drive in, walk in is $5 if you walked in the area. i.e. park else where and walked in to use the beach and restaurant/ park. The area is a private beach we're gathering at, so it has very nice clean showers and restrooms. BBQ area for us to grill and enjoy the beach to ourselves or whom ever decide to enjoy the beach.

First of all....thank you Anthony "Kanji" for all your work. We should call this your meet since you have did all the work.

My deepest apologies for not being too supportive thus far. But I will try and do more.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, June 3rd at 9am at Paradise Cove. If you are planning on eating there...they make great to go foods to eat on the beach....The restaurant is called "Paradise Cove Beach Cafe" if you are interested in knowing the name.

Anyway, maybe we can start an official roll call sheet of who is attending so we can get an ideal of who is attending.

Ok everyone don't forget to bring your FRS/GMRS 2way radio's with you just in case.

The 2way Radio's will be set on Channel 6 for GMRS 2way radio's so we have the extended range than an FRS channel.

Channel 6 on 2way

Food wise: Pot luck?

Ridegal and Jago will be there early to reserve table spots and location.

See you all there and safe driving everyone...

Okay, will that be Channel 6 sub-channel 0 (zero), I want to make sure that you can hear me :)

I will probably arrive later in the morning as I have something planned early that is in the general vicinity but I'm not shure what time I will be finished.

Pot luck - I will try and bring my wifes' home made "Broccoli Salad" unless there is something else you would rather me bring.

It looks like there is a parking area south of the pier with a long row of spaces that would make for some good pictures, it seems the spaces next to the sea wall has sand all over it but the spaces next to the grass are clear. That looks like a good area for a group vehicle photograph if there is access to that area.

Do we get a "Ridgeline Discount" on the parking? $25/day - ouch!

It's not $25 per day, its $20 parking, 3 hours free if you validate and eat at the restaurant. $5.00 fee is you park near the restaurant and walked in from the street. I figure its better to park closed by and spend the day enjoying the beach and not worrying to much about your ridge getting scratched by someone or something that you can't see.

Sorry Anthony, :(

Not trying to be argumentative or anything but I was just going by the info here:

http://www.paradisecovemalibu.com/parking.htm

If you eat at the restaurant and validate it's $3 for 4 hours, then $25/day.

Walk-in $5

Drive in $25.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again. :)

Is there an actual head count or just an RL count? For me it will be a minimum of one, maximum of four. Fourteen RL's so far. How many RL's were at the Dana Point meet? Must have been close to that also.

OH  i didn't see that part of the website, considering, that's cheap and the area are clean from trash and not to have to worry about stepping on broken glass or needles like some beaches, plus the restrooms are clean and not have to worry about some guy or bum hanging inside and worry about the person trying to mob you. Overall it isn't bad for the whole day.

Hi there,

LiftedLawnmower has a point. If we're doing a potluck, I think we should start coordinating what we're bringing. I think this late in the game we may have to just do our own thing. I don't know...any ideas?

If we do a potluck sort of thing, I believe that we should all bring our own main course such as; steak, chicken, ribs, etc. and then the potluck could be something we can all share such as; rice, potatoe salad, chips, drinks, salads, fruit salads, desserts. What do you think?

You can also order food there and take it out to where the picnic tables are and eat there or you can just eat at the restaurant. The food is very reasonable and good too.

Brandon and I are thinking about ordering our food to go at the restaurant there. But even if we eat there, i was planning on bringing something for the potluck if there is one.

So let's get coordinated..

It really is easy. Drive Pacific Coast Highway. Turn at Paradise Cove (a traffic signal and only one way to turn). That street dead ends in the parking lot.

Hey Folks,

Due to the poor planning on my behalf, I think we should abandon the potluck and just order our food at the restaurant. That way we can validate our parking for 3 hours free and then afterward if we feel like it, we can take a drive up the coast and maybe go to Zuma Beach or anywhere else.

Does this sound like the plan?

Please feed back, we're running out of time
