: Is New Car Smell Addictive?

I am sitting in my office right now trying to work, and my nose just seems to be clamoring for a trip out the the Ridgeline to just sit in it and smell the new car smell. I have had people tell me the my cars smell new for about 3 years, where theirs seem to lose it much sooner. I have to wonder if this is what gets me going on looking at new cars. When the new car smell finally wears out on my car, I start to look for a new car to get back that addictive odor again. So do you think New Car Smell is addictive? Don't you wonder about it? Do they spray something into the car to make it smell enticing? Or am I just a crazy car person like the rest hiding as a computer guy? All I know is I want to go visit my car right now and can't seem to think about work ;).

Good thing it is vacation week for about everyone but me so it is real slow in the office or it would impede me actually completing deadline due materials.

It is a sure fire way to ruin the mood in a date too. Lucky for me, I have been married for 11 years now, I guess you can say that is one long date ;).

No point in breakin 'em in gently guys! They just gotta get used to it just like we do! We just fess up to the obvious, the girls try to deny the toot and blame us - even if we are the only other one in the room  .

You can buy the new car scent in a spray bottle. I think that there is something special in the ingredients that causes people, especially men, to disregard logic and being practical or reasonable and instead causes us act on impulse regardless of the consequences - just like women do to us. Hey... maybe were on to somethin here...

This web site has everything. Not one bit of Ridgeline info is left out...not even the effects of farts on the interior.

I agree completely Nicholas, but there must be some other topics we have missed!

Agreed...let's just drive our vehicles and enjoy them...some enjoy the looks, other's the preformance, and then...some the "smell"!!! I like them all...LOL ;)

The combo of the moonroof and the auto-sliding rear window makes for an effective vent for those times of flatulent excess! :D

Sorry guys/gals - couldn't resist.

I just blame it on the dog, whether he's there or not.
