krdomingue 05-07-2007, 10:15 PM I know that the gas mileage thing has been done to death in other threads, but I wanted to take a little bit of the variable out of the picture it see how I compare to others more like me. While I know that everybody drives differently, at least in Houston, I know that most will be using their AC, will use the special forumula gas to reduce smog, and will have to contend with Houston's traffic. I have about 1,200 miles and I am getting in the low 15ish MPG. My high so far has been 16 mpg and a low of 14.5. I have not done any estended highway driving yet. What is everybody else getting?
louisiana ridgeline 05-07-2007, 11:21 PM I was getting about 15-16 MPG and i drive a mix of 70/30 highway/city. At about 6700 miles i seen a improvement and i got 19 MPG on my last tank. I say let the engine break in some and you will see the improvements. At first i didnt beleave this when someone else would say it, but its the truth. Just be patient and take a road trip.
mine has 50K and I'm still getting 16 to 17
Engyo 06-18-2007, 06:03 AM I live in Houston also - and I run between 15 and 17. I can get 17+ if I do a straight highway run on cruise, but with traffic, etc., it's between 15 and 16.
Outfitter 06-18-2007, 09:10 AM DFW area for me, so blended fuel. Temp set to Auto year round. 40,000 miles and I get between 18.5 and 19 mpg day in day out except when towing or hauling a really heavy load in the bed and then it drops to around 15 mpg. I don't hot rod it in town but I do run 80-85 on the rural highways.
I'll be looking at a new one sometime in the next 12 months and plan on getting the Nav and XM this time.
Having lived in both Houston and Dallas I can honestly say they both $uck as far as traffic goes but I believe Houston $ucks a bit more.:D
davedad 06-18-2007, 09:49 AM Hi.. just filled up on Friday and noticed an increase in my mileage which surprised me due to the fact that I've been driving with the A/C on the past week. I filled up at Sunoco 10% ethanol and registered 18.4 MPG. I started out with about 14.3 MPG when I first bought my RT new in February, I have about 4500 miles on it to date. I took one road trip to VT and averaged around 21 MPG, since the trip I've been averaging around 17 MPG 40% city,60% highway.I'll be very happy if it stays in the 17 to 20 MPG range, sure beats the 12 I was getting with my Ram.
Humble Pie 06-18-2007, 10:18 AM Word Dawgz.......getting 15 to 16 combo driving.....best yet is 20 MPG on a San Antonio trip.......creeping up on 6,000 miles....mileage has increased about 1 MPG since I got my 'Ridge in March......after reading all the posts, I think Outfitter is on to something.......the MPG probably does have to do with the traffic situations like stop and go, lights, and construction......
Crosstown traffic.....Jimi Hendrix.....great song......
JuiceGoose 07-11-2007, 02:13 PM I've got 8,000 on mine and got 15 last fill up most i've gotten is 21 with full highway driving. I average about 15-17 mpg. I'm down in the Sugarland area
blueridge33 07-11-2007, 07:38 PM DFW area for me and with 29,000 miles getting 18 to 19 mpg. Trip distance makes a difference as it's 20 miles with 70% hwy 30% city driving.
When I lived in Central Texas (Temple-Waco area) I was getting more like 15 to 16 mpg ---- but my trips were more like 6 miles long. Shorter trips affect mileage more.
Same driving - AC on auto @ 72 and running 70+ to work.
surfdawg 07-11-2007, 09:58 PM My high in California has been 19. Depending on my mood, and the proximity to the accelorator, I average 14 - 17.
shingles 07-26-2007, 08:10 AM in town, I average 18.5 on my daily commutes... on my trips to DFW, I am usually 21-22+. AC is ALWAYS on and I am usually ~5mph over speed limit.
S2000 07-26-2007, 09:17 AM I've been tracking mine since day 1. I was getting 15-16 for the first 1000 miles. The I was getting 17-18 until 5000 miles. I now see 17-19 depending on highway/city & air/no air.
Timberlake 08-07-2007, 12:13 PM I travel up and down I 35 between Waco and Laredo. I just reached 20k and I get about 20mpg hwy and 16mpg in town. I think this is about as good as it's gonna get.
sabauer 08-07-2007, 12:36 PM My Ridge is still fairly new, I do a large portion of driving on the highway and just a little in the city. Seems I am getting about 18mpg at this point. Being that we are in Houston - AC on all the time.
All in all I am happy with the Ridge and enjoy it everyday!
RidgeDOC 08-10-2007, 10:21 PM I guess my ridge is pretty non-aerodynamic for me with brush guard, side step, and roof rack it doesn't matter what I do I get about 16 mpgs long trip or just around town. ahh well it looks cool:cool:
