I can't begin to tell all of you the overwhelming, heart pounding, tingling feelings I have had to deal with since I started reading all these posts from all you wonderful people. I always thought, to be honest, that I was a nuisance posting all those posts and I never really thought that people would read the ramblings from a woman driving a truck. Well...you sure have proven me wrong.
I have tried to live by a few simple rules in my life.
1. Don't burn bridges if you can help it.
2. Do onto others...
3. Kill em' with kindness ( if someone flips you off in a fit of road rage, just smile and wave )
4. Build as many friendships as you can in life. ( mainly so you can cause a traffic jam on the way to the cemetary as your last hooray!! )

You, my friends, make it easy to be me. Only one time, did I feel so much love from so many. A short story please.

I belonged to a Widows and Widowers forum about 10 years ago and found that I couldn't get through a day without my online friends there to support me and help rebuild me from the loss of my husband. It was the hardest time in my life watching my children suffer over the loss of their father. You, my dear dear friends, have brought this love back into my life once again. How lucky can a person be to have this not once but twice in a lifetime. Thank you for your support and priceless friendship. Todd and I have decided to give our little graphics business a whirl fulltime. So...look for some sponsorship here on the ROC in the future and our website cdcontheweb.com which is currently under construction but will be up soon. ( We plan to donate a % of all proceeds for the duration of the business to cancer research for many of our items )

I appreciate the thoughts of writing to Rick Case on my behalf but I fear it would fall on deaf ears. If you don't mind, I prefer to let sleeping dogs sleep. However, should you have the notion to write or call anyone, please, contact Honda and tell them of this website and do what you can to encourage them to read it. If Honda wants to improve on an already remarkable vehicle as the Ridgeline, then the only true way they can do it by the advisory board here at the ROC!! Maybe we can collect enough money from all the members to buy a 60 commercial spot on national TV. "Honda Ridgeline Owners - strong as a ROC". :D
God Bless you all for being you. I have no doubt in my mind you have no trouble sleeping at night with the soul that burns within all of you.
Thank you.
See you on the posts.
:)

( p.s. I do have a request. Anyone out there know where I can get inexpensive health insurance for myself and Drew? please let me know )

Regarding your health insurance.

Your previous employer, regardless of how you were terminated, has to offer you the health plan you had with them under COBRA. This is a federal law. You will have the opportunity to buy it at their cost. Be prepared for a shock. It won't be cheap. However it can tide you over for up to 18 months while you look for something better.

Here are some ideas about where to look for coverage.

1) Professional associations. Do you belong to any? Are there any in the fields that either of you work? It is often well worth the yearly dues to join if only to get their health plan. The domestic partner situation should be checked out carefully. Some will allow it, some will not. It may have to be you who gets the insurance for you and your son, while Todd gets his own. The deals available through professional associations are often the best deals available.

2) Chamber of Commerce. You have a registered business in town. If you don't, you should register it and become legal. Then I would check with your chamber and see what they have to offer. You usually have to be a member in order to buy the plan, but it may be worth it.

3) Local internet organizations. Are there any listservs, forums, chats, or websites that have to do with businesses in your area? Search around. There's a listserv on technology companies in my area. They are always discussing good deals on insurance plans.

Good luck

J.C. I know this will all workout. In regards to medical ins. Never, ever fail to look at Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. We have used them for years and have found many benefits . We are both in our 50's and have shopped around extensively. BTW, we are both self employed, and it is the greatest freedom we have ever known.
Lots of luck
Jules

Your state should have a HIP pool. This will insure the uninsurable. I'm assuming this is state to state. They have one in Utah.
