What? Keith isn't arranging for a few "alimony-ettes" to serve the Purple Haze? I was hoping that some "local talent" would be the eye candy. Is TMac suppose to set that up?
JuliE 06-27-2007, 03:09 PM I don't think that's T-Mac's job (even if he wants it to be!). :) However, I will let him join you guys for the late night festivities. We are bringing our girls, so I'll have to be with them.
jpphoto 06-27-2007, 05:03 PM Hey JuliE does that mean he's allowed to go to the East Side with us???:p

MoosePond 06-28-2007, 09:59 AM Does everyone have their ticket?

That's great! Hopefully that's the only ticket anyone gets over that weekend!Funny that you say that. The night after our last Civic meet (Civic vs Scion), one guy got whammied with a 125 mph in a 70 mph, reckless, stop signs, evading and whatever else. He actually left the police in the dust on some back roads, but then some sense crept back into his brain and he pulled over before he killed someone. He spent the night in jail.

Trying to make up my mind to attend. Been waiting on a meet closer to home, that is not going to happen, no interest. Think you guys could put up with an old dude that drinks Miller beer and/or Tennessee sipping wiskey, preferably "George Dickel".

Are there any special local whiskey concoctions we don't know about?
25 Year Honda Owner 06-28-2007, 07:36 PM "Are there any special local whiskey concoctions we don't know about?"
Not sure, I have never gotten past "Dickel and water" and not much water. Located in southern middle Tennessee, I live within 20 miles of Jack Daniel and George Dickel, so I am sure you can see the cause for the addiction. My wife says we can go to St. Louis if she can see the Clydesdales at the Budwiser place. Guess we will sign up and hope for the best.:)

RidgeTrotter 06-28-2007, 09:12 PM Keith -- Since this is strictly REDNECK and NASCAR country, I afraid our specialty is white lighting and the last time I checked, it wasn't exactly legal,
if you know what I mean. :(

T Mac 06-30-2007, 10:53 PM Yeah, true...we are talking a lot about beverages...but what about FOOD! Good thing Lion's Choice is next door and there is an Applebee's connected to the hotel. ;)
Of course, that brings up the question....just how late IS late-night for some of you? :)
Our EOC meet in St. Louis last year had some taking photos of themselves still in the parking lot when the sun came up.
Yeah, true...we are talking a lot about beverages...but what about FOOD! Good thing Lion's Choice is next door and there is an Applebee's connected to the hotel. ;)This will have to be discussed as well. Snack items? mini-weenies? Late night drive through places? Sonic run? Late night ice cream sundaes?

Our EOC meet in St. Louis last year had some taking photos of themselves still in the parking lot when the sun came up.There is just no telling... I can stay up VERY late if there is activity. I figure by Sunday morning, I'll be sleeping in REAL late and getting home extra late, but SAFE.

That's probably Woodpecker, which is the real English "hard" cider. Woodchuck is a local variant from Vermont that's very, very close to the original.

Well, you're lucky to have a local bartender with extremely good taste! It's a bit hard to find it on tap even up in VT and I usually have to settle for the bottled variety.
SHUEY027 07-05-2007, 08:25 AM NICE! What day are you planning on arriving?
Sometime Friday afternoon(the earlier the better). I think it's about 6 hour drive from Columbus. I plan on leaving first thing Friday morning.:D

Hey Shuey, do you want to meet in Indianapolis and drive up together? I'll be leaving about the same time. I'll be coming from Cincinnati. :)
PS. Someone save me a spot. I don't have any creative beers to bring. I'll have some of my favorite beer with me though. XX.

I am sorry that I will not be able to meet many of you fine Ridge-a-holic's in St. Louis. My wife and I are heading to Maine for a couple of weeks of lobster and Moose watching.
Mr. Moosepond...the local pub also has a wooden woodchuck as the tap handle. Considering they have 20 beers on tap from Europe and the US and woodchuck made the cut...that is pretty good stuff. If you are ever in Greensboro NC. Let me know and I'll buy you a VT Apple Cider.

Lobster and moose, two of our favorite things! Enjoy!
We'll be coming through NC in mid-August on our way to a family outing in Kiawah Island, SC, so we just might take you up on that! :D Your local publican is obviously a man of discerning taste if he chose Woodchuck as one of his 20 brews.
jwizard 07-07-2007, 04:14 PM I'll be the designated driver when the parking deck mounties show up. If we bring our own fire pit this time, maybe they'll actually let us move it.....:)
Brent 07-07-2007, 09:20 PM I'll be arriving Friday during the day from the West coast. Anything happening during the day and where and when? I missed the group rate for the motel so I will be staying at another local motel or under some bridge if they have any in St Louis. I am not a beer drinker but if the price of admission is beer I can bring some local microbrewery stuff. I just drink designer water neat from my designer drinking mug with a twist of key lime. ;) Before I got to be older than dirt my favorite shift was graveyard so maybe I qualify for this crew even though I don't drink beer!
And don't make fun of my need-a-wax-job truck. 1900 miles will cover any wax left with a patina of local road film from several states.
T Mac 07-07-2007, 10:33 PM I'll be arriving Friday during the day from the West coast. Anything happening during the day and where and when?
Friday is a day of running around St. Louis and checking out the various sites together. It might be tough to find us but I may have a number you can use to call us. That night, I think we'll meet back up at the hotel and head out for some dinner somewhere.
As for the hotel, call the hotel directly and ask to speak to the manager. Tell them you are part of our group and that you want to know if you can still get in on the group rate. If they have rooms, you'd think they'd offer it to you just to get you there. It's worth a shot to at least ask.

I'm cool with meeting you. Sometime on Friday I will have to pick up my other half at the airport, her flight should be arriving in the afternoon sometime. We will get a time and meeting place set up closer to game time. We'll have the Buckeye train rolling!!:D
SHUEY027 07-17-2007, 01:53 PM I will be bringing some good pale ale from the Columbus brewing Company. I like this "bring a beer from your local brewer " idea. I not sure who started it but I can't wait to try some other cities local beers.
So I purchased a 12 pack of Abita Purple Haze (http://www.abita.com/brew/purplehaze.html) & a 12'er of Abita Turbo Dog (http://www.abita.com/brew/turbodog.html) tonight. My fridge is pretty full now.
get'em while they are cold!
I'll make sure I save half of them for friday night.

We have changed our departure time to Thursday late afternoon. Debbie isn't going out of town this week so we decided to leave on Thursday. We will see you there Friday.
MoosePond 07-30-2007, 07:58 AM Just got back from vacation last night (4 days on Cape Cod, 1 day in Boston, 4 days in VT) and I've added some additional Vermont surprises to my Friday Night "arsenal". See ya'll there!
btw, when I head out for errands later, my trusty RL will hit 10,000 miles (was 9,996 when we got home last night)!

I have a friend that does that. It's not for me. I do have a not so secret hangover fix though. 2 Tylenols, 150 mg of Zantac and a Sausage Egg McMuffin value meal with a medium Coke. The mixture of grease and drugs seem to fix me right up. :)

I never have a hangover since my usual drink is Tennessee sipping wiskey. I suspect this beer diet for 3 nights in a row may bring one on!
The looks of the Thursday arrivals is going to get ugly by Saturday morning.
