I was at my local Honda dealership yesterday and they have two new 2008 Ridgelines in stock (one RTL/Navi in Steel Blue Metallic, and one RTS in Formal Black). The only change that I was able to see from 07 to 08 was a new standard wheel in the RTS/RTL. I have attached a pic of the new wheel to this post so everyone can see. I checked over the vehicle and I haven't noticed anything else different vs the 07.

I opted to upgrade from my 06 RTL/Navi to an 07 RTL/Navi (since Honda has cash back on the Ridge). I would rather have the $$$ in my pocket than have a newer model year - also, I have the upgraded Honda chrome rims that MSRP at $1,676.

Looks like the 08 machined wheels will be available shortly. I'll upgrade, maybe wait till the price comes down. Scroll down, you'll see them listed as TBA...

Funny thing is, I always liked the stock alloy wheel. I think it fits the styling of the truck quite well. However, I loved the mod done by one of our Canadian members that had them powder coated black then machined the high spots to bring back the alloy color. Then clearcoated them.

I'd like to see these new machined wheels when they become available. Close to the same original styling, but dressed up a bit.

I'm wondering if all the low spots in the wheel are painted in the picture? It appears that the low spots on the spokes of the wheel are the same color as the truck. Am I seeing what I think I am seeing or is that part of the wheel machined as well?

Does the finish look anything like the chrome look wheel or is it different? The chrome wheel has 5 spokes and is a smooth wheel isn't it? I have never seen one up close.

Maybe not the correct term but I would call it brushed aluminum.

Painted between the spokes and in the flat areas... Also the center cap is smooth and not as the old ones with a carved out H.

Painted? What color? The Black one I saw was not painted "black" between the spokes!

Looks to me like the gray color from the olden days...

Thank you for the pics xridgelinex. :) They still look grey until you notice that you can see a reflection in the middle of the spokes.

I saw a black and a white parked close to and within a flock of pilots. I did not like the look on the white as I am not a fan of chrome with white.
Thanks for the pics. I should have paid more attention. See this prior post by me: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=221894&postcount=22

I looked through the accessories for the 08'. Did they nix the tonneau, the fender flares, the door moldings, and the bed extender?

IMHO, honda lost a lot of sales on those covers to the competitors. You can't beat the price of what is out there. The bed extender and the fender flares are still listed on the honda website.

No more green color in 2008. No Amazon or Aberdeen Green. No green at all. If you want green, better get a 2007 while they last.

One of newest members "blackridge08", posted that they have a 2008 RTX... I think the first 2008 listed on the ROC....

Referring to the bottom picture in the above post...

The way the light is reflecting off of the side window trim makes it look like chrome at a glance. Looks out of place to me - kinda glad it's flat black now!

So the RTXs retain the same wheels in 08 while the RTS/RTL get the new wheels? HArd decesion now, like the price and package of the RTX but may have to go to an RTS to get Nimbus Grey and the new wheels, not sure if its worth an extra 2K.

I have a 06 and was lucky to snag some 08 dealer take offs on eBay. The 08 machined wheels are much better looking than the 06/07 painted alloys, IMO.

My green one is not for sale. Green RL's are now collector items...
Glad I got one. With the Leer cap. You can't have too much green on your vehicle...

Chris,
The chrome wheels are smooth and very shiny. It's amazing how they look like real chrome, but without the rust and tarnish issues. :)

My lease is up at the beg. of 09. I am hoping that Honda will make some changes to the Ridgeline so that I can lease another one otherwise the Toyta Tundra double cab looks great. Does anyone with inside info know if Honda is offering a diff. engine (more torque) and larger wheels, I would love to get another Ridgeline but would also want it to be more like the avalanche in appearance ie. broader beefier and more power ( without being a Chevy). PLease anyone give me hope.
Thanx
Luis

You won't see any significant changes until they entirely redesign the truck, which won't be until, I think, 2011. If you want an Avalanche, buy an Avalanche. Just be sure and realize what you are getting - and losing - by getting one.
