I’m getting ready to do away with the less than par 6.5 factory door speakers. Anybody has any recommendations on what brand to upgrade to? I’m to keep my cost below $250 for all 4 speakers.

These are great, Crutchfield currently has a great price on them too: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-sjkG3u6ki8j/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=db650&i=107DB650 Honda has special speaker connectors, don't forget to order some. Chefelvis 07-15-2007, 05:48 PM i would go with these jl audios: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_components_pages.php?page_id=233 I am running the zr 650 and they are up there with the new jbl gti's and the rainbows I have heard before. hurricanejoe 07-15-2007, 06:28 PM Hey Chefelvis, Are the woofers and tweeters seperate on the speakers you have? How about some info on where you mounted them if they are, and it looks like there's a crossover that comes with the speakers ? Where did you put that?? Or maybe I saw something completely different?? hurricanejoe boxsky 07-15-2007, 07:58 PM Is the rest of your system going to remain stock? According to Crutchfield these don't fit. wolfeRT 07-15-2007, 10:10 PM they fit, they just require a spacer to mount them. Most make their own out of MDF, but you can buy them at Best Buy or some place like that. If you are running these off the stock radio, these would suffice. Do not buy a high end component set because it would be a waste of money without a good amp to power them. For the money, that is a good deal and I wouldn't go much above that if you are sticking with just the headunit. Also, if later down the road you decide you want them to be louder and cleaner, you can add an amp and make them sound even better :) The most important thing is this...listen to whatever it is before you buy it. Your ear will tell you what you like. Some people like speakers that others hate. A perfect example is the JLs posted above. I like the set below them 10x better than them, but others disagree. Its all about preference. Go with what you like. You should be able to listen to those polks at Circuit City. If you need help on install, there are some great walkthroughs on here, just search. Lastly, if you buy from Crutchfield, they give you sheets to show you how to take everything apart. bongus 07-18-2007, 10:54 PM Lastly, if you buy from Crutchfield, they give you sheets to show you how to take everything apart. Or, you can do a search in this forum...there are lots of pictures and descriptions. I find the descriptions to be invaluable. vpkb 07-19-2007, 01:11 AM According to Crutchfield these don't fit. and how did i get them into all 4 doors? i made mdf baffles for better deadening, and they were getting 100 watts rms each http://usera.imagecave.com/vpkb/Ridgeline/rearspeakers.jpg | |
