I know this topic has been beat to death but I was wondering if anyone knows the pin-out configuration for the backup camera on the back of the Navigation unit under the seat. I want to use an aftermarket camera and connect it to the factory navigation unit.
Thanks,
Willie

Which particular connector do you want to know about?:o :)
Don't know if this will help, or not, but here's the .pdf for the nav wiring.
I think hooking up a "non-OEM" cam goes beyond knowing the pin-outs and wiring scheme, however.
Andy and others would probably support this assumption that there are compatibility issues that have to be considered, as well?
Just my .02.
good luck,

I want to add a switch to the wiring so that I can turn on the "camera" signal while in drive. I know how to do this with a diode, and I can see which wire is the reverse signal. What I don't know is which wire to use as the power source to send into the reverse signal line. Any suggestions?
I want to do this so I can run a computer's video into the nav screen for music purposes.
Thanks!

I don't believe you will be able to do this with decent results. The nav screen is NTSC and the computer is VGA. You could use a converter but the results are less than decent (in my opinion)
Head over to the forums at mp3car.com/vbulletin . Many have tried and all have decided it wasn't worth it. Most people who do what you are doing add a 7" VGA touch screen. Be advised that the mp3car forum members are tough on newbies who don't try to answer their own question via search. They are also pretty good at having some FAQs and other information for newbies. Other than that, it is a great resource for what you are trying to do. A couple of us with Ridgelines on there. :D

Actually, I've done it and it looks pretty good. I made the molex plug as in the first post and it worked the first time I plugged it in. I tested it with my laptop and a DVI to VGA adapter (small plug with an RCA and S-Video output) and bam -- there it was on my screen. No, it wouldn't work that well with surfing the web or anything that involves reading small text as the resolution isn't that great. But the Cover Flow in fullscreen mode for iTunes looks just fine, which is what I have in mind. Video looks nice, too, but I don't plan on using that :).
So my only dilemma is how to get the video while in drive.
