Alright I need a battery upgrade. I am looking for recommendations on a battery. I am running a pretty serious system and like to listen with the vehicle not running. Please throw out any pics and suggestions... thanks.

I’ve been working out the mounting bugs for a yellow top Optima in a new billet case for our Ridgey. Kinda like the picture. You may need to mount a couple of these or go to the blue top deep cycle marine unit to enjoy your music though.....

5SDUDE: That battery case looks wicked. I'd be interested in buying one when I upgrade to an Optima battery. By the way, does the 5S in your name stand for the 5 pillars of the manufacturing workplace?

Our son netted an Optima sponsorship for his 06’ Si and I get to use the “extra one” for my Ridge. The billet battery tray, uprights and top cap will also become available exclusively on the ROC within a few weeks with a plethora of different top cap designs as I work out the mounting issues for our truck. Yes to your second question. I was placed in charge of our plant wide conversion to become 5S compliant for the last 5 years.

Here's a picture of his 06' Civic Si Optima Battery install.

Wow, thats an awesome spider web design you have there. I have a small yellow top in my civic aswell. It has been great for 3 years now. I sure hope you can get a design that fits in the ridgeline DUDE. I would be interested in purchasing one as well. Anybody know anything about kenetiks batteries? They sure are expensive that means they're the best right? http://www.kinetikaudio.com/hc1400.asp

I use a Group 34 Deka Intimidator from Remy Battery.

Tell them it's for a Ridgeline and they'll send you a spacer for free with the battery. The new battery is shorter.

If you truly want the best battery designed for mobile electronics, I would look into Kinetik. They have deep cycle batteries with 600 to 2400 cold cranking amps. How many Optima's can do that? Did I mention they are also smaller? I believe the 600 is made to fit on a quad or motorcycle, you would have to check there site. Otherwise Tsunami, which is a company under Metra, also offer batteries with a very high cold cranking output. I believe their largest was 2100 CCA, but not positive.

Thanks Chef, I'm just partial to the looks of the Optima's but after reading up on your link to Kinetik Power Cells, they appear to be the hot ticket for car audio and since they are used in the “Worlds Loudest Vehicle” at over 180dB!!!!! Holly Crap! At a price of $199.00 to $449.00 I'm sure they do provide massive cranking power too.

Ok I found a dealer in Yukon and bought a kinetik battery. I got the 1400 for 250.00. I still have some space left maybe I should have gotten a larger battery. Owe well, the engine turns over much better and im getting almost 13 volts on battery power alone. Not bad. Now only time will tell if this battery is all that. Heres a pic enjoy...
