10/28/07 - Northeast PA Lehigh Valley Meet

I was wondering if anybody would like to assist in setting up a meet in the Lehigh Valley, PA. If interested please do not hesitate to contact me and hopefully we could put soemthing together. I would much appreciate it if anyone could share ideas on where to have it and what to do (have shirts made etc.....)? :D

Are you talking Allentown area? Also, don't forget the Long Island Meet in October. That's not too far a drive for you.

Well I first wanted to see how many replies I could aquire and then look into the place (meaning how many hard core ridgeline fans are in NE PA Lehigh Valley). I am looking at October because of the nice change in season. Any other thoughts about the area or place to have it at. i know there are some pretty nice park areas.

There is a meet in Oct, on Long Island. Nov. would work.

i would attend if not working.

Hopefully I can find more Ridgeline owners who are interested getting together with others. I know there are a lot in our area. I am going to see if the local dealerships will sponser me, like Lehigh Valley Honda. :D

Hey Pizza man how did you get some of your contributing sponsers? I think i may ask the place were I bought my truck to be a site. They do have a pretty big area. The only other question i have is in which way do I go about asking about this?

From a newbe on the block, Hawk Mountain sounds like a very good place. It's only a 1 1/2 hour drive for me from where I live and late October will enable us to caught the fall colors of the foilage. In addition, it looks like some good hiking trails. Sounds like a GREAT day to me - a chance to meet other Ridgeliners, a little hiking and a chance to get on the open road with my new baby [I pick her up at the end of June & I'm still breaking her in.]

Hey Dan, My Son made me go to The Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas on our way home from the Altoona Meet.... It is quite a store ! Worth a visit without a doubt.

I finally picked up my new 2007 black RTS today, It was quite an ordeal after the dealer sold my RTX, and had to find me another 2007. What a truck! I gave up the 2004 Fx4 F150 for the ridgeline and it rides like a really really nice car.

I'll be installing rear mud flaps in the morning, which is kind of silly.

I think I will not make the meet unless it rains, I have a tee time in Easton. Maybe I'll run into some of you around Morris county.

In my case, lunch is pretty much a decision I'll make while I'm there. Generally if I eat breakfast, I don't eat lunch. I'm also not exactly sure how long Jeanette and I will stay. It pretty much depends on how cold and windy it'll be. Once Jeanette gets cold it all over! :eek: :o :D

Sure, there's plenty of room. We're going to meet at the Cracker Barrel at 9:00 for breakfast. I think some will head over to Cabela's after for an hour or so and then on up to Hawk Mountain.

We're back, ate an early dinner (Mandy was starved) and my body is sore. The rock climbing was as much fun as it was punishing! :D Everything from my waist down to my tooties is screaming for advil.

StoneRidge07, John, picked an excellent location for a Meet. The weather was perfect, Cabela's was a true experience. I took about 50 photo's as soon as I go through them and resize the good ones, I'll post them.

Here's the first of my photos. The 1st is of the Ridgeline line up in Cabela's parking lot. The 2nd is a sculpture in front of the store, The 3rd and 4th is what we referred to as the dead zoo. Stuffed animals on display inside Cabela's. The last is of a very low flying Piper also inside Cabela's

I hope this photo shows up well. I was able to take three photos and stitch them together for a panoramic view of the valley. This is from one of the many lookout points up on Hawk Mountain. I sometimes forget just how beautiful Pennsylvania scenery can be.

A few more photos. The 1st is of Andrew (63Tbird) and Grace. A fun and talented couple. We really enjoy their company. My G-Daughter, Mandy fell in love with Grace. The next is of a special look-out point made specifically for looking at me. :eek: :D

Packed alot in half a day. Nice to see old friends. Seems like we just saw you all. And meeting new people at these meets has been fun. Suzanne and I had a good time, but wow do we hurt. I can't wait to see what 4:15 brings. Bud

I have to agree, Bud. It's always good to see you and Suzanne and Dan and Marge and the rest of the original Cape May crowd. Today a lot of new Ridgeline friends were made. It was a pleasure to meet Keith and Holly, John and Mike. I was able to spend a little time with JerseyRidge and Beth this morning, but I lost sight of them and the boys once we got to Cabela's :(

It was great to start meeting the northeast crew. Even though you all didn't make the national meet in St. Louis or meet the ROC'rs along the Gulf Coast, this much I know is true: all ROC'rs are great people to be around.

I don't know about JHRTL but I couldn't move Sunday morning as I hurt my back Saturday working on fixing up me garage. :( Cann't have a new truck and a messed up garage.

The photos look great and everyone having fun, nice turnout. Looks like I missed out on a good day of hiking, an opportunity to get some great photos and meet some fellow Ridgeliners. Not to mention a chance to stop by Cabela's right there in Hamburg. My only problem with stopping by Cabela's is that I've never been able to leave one of their stores empty handed.

Well what can you say. When these Northeast ROC's get together it's always a good day. It was nice to meet some new people and put the faces to the names, as they say, only wish I had had more time to talk with everyone. These meets go so fast. I know Mike, JerseryRidge, and the family where there, but I hardly had a chance to talk, sorry about that Mike.:) Keith, John, Mike, nice to meet you and hope we meet again at the next one. Keith, hope you made it across the bridge without to much traffic. Joe & Jeanette, you can bring Mandy to every meet, she was a joy to have along.

Also, really nice pick for a day meet. Thanks for everyone's input. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together. We're going to have to get some of you, and you know who you are, out more often to take a walk. 'Fresh Air Poisoning' can kill ya, you know! lol :D

Damn, I missed that. I was still looking up for that elusive Northern Goshhawk. Guess I had a better chance of spotting Tweety Bird. :eek: :D

I must say, my wife (Melissa) and I had the time of our life. It was a pleasure meeting all of you. I just hope everybody wasn't to sore lol! I have many picture that I am getting together as of know. I will post of few of them and then put the rest up on a link. The picture of Bald outlook will always stick with me (great time). I look foward to meeting you all again soon. Melissa and I felt this was like a family we always had but just hidden. Once again I hope all of our soreness will soon be gone. Absolutely John. In fact, I'm sure ONDLINKS (Dan) would love to lend a hand. He helped me with mine so we're a couple of old pros at it.

Jeanette and I had a good time yesterday. Our g-daughter is still asking to look at the photos. I'm glad you suggested having the Meet, it turned out perfectly and the timing was perfect. Now that you have a Meet under your belt I expect to see you and Melissa at the next one. We're kicking around a few ideas for the Spring, so stay tuned.
