KPtechnologies Group Buy - Remote Window Up // Sunroof One Touch

KPierson
09-09-2007, 05:07 PM
KPtechnologies is pleased to annouce a group buy for ROC members.

This group buy will run through midnight of September 21st, 2007 and will feature both the Window Up module and the 'One Touch' sunroof module.

Window Module: Mounts inside the drivers door with 5 wires to connect. Once installed it is possible to remotely close all windows using the OEM remote by pressing and releasing the 'LOCK' button twice.

This promotion is for the Ridgeline specific window module that has an output that will enable the closing of the back window with the rest of the windows. The Ridgeline version also includes the relay necesarry to make this connection.

'One Touch' Sunroof Module: Allows opening, closing, and tilting of the sunroof without holding the button down! To trigger the module all you do is press and release the desired button twice quickly.

KPtechnologies specializes in unique products that integrate seamlessly with OEM electronics. Neither KPtechnologies products alter nor remove any OEM feature/function.

MSRP Pricing:
Window Module MSRP - $59.99 + $9.99 shipping
One Touch Sunroof MSRP - $44.99 + $9.99 shipping

0-9 modules: 15% discount
10-14 modules: 20% discount
15-19 modules: 25% discount
20+ modules: 30% discount

With 30% off the window module will cost $41.99 + $6.99 shipping
With 30% off the sunroof module will cost $31.49 + $6.99 shipping
Both modules together will be only $73.48 shipped!!!!

The modules will be shipped via UPS/FedEX and will include a tracking number. IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA, HI or AK please add $4 to your total to cover the extra shipping costs. If you live outside of the USA or Canada please contact me for a shipping quote before placing your order.

If you buy both/multiple modules at the same time shipping will be free! Each module sold will count towards the total amount (window and sunroof together, not seperately).

To participate in this group buy place your order directly through the KPtechnologies website (http://www.KPtechnologies.com) and in the comments section enter ROC GB - 'ROC USERNAME'.

If you are paying via Paypal you will pay full price up front and your module will ship immediately. As soon as the group buy is over (or when we sell the 21st module) we will calculate the discount and promptly refund the difference to your Paypal account. If you want to pay by check you will most likely want to wait until the final total has been calculated. If you are only interested in a module IF we reach a certain discount level please express that in this thread. That way we can keep track of who is interested when we start to get close to the next level.

This promotion is being offered directly by KPtechnologies, there is no 'middle man' involved.

If you have any questions please let me know. There is quite a bit about this module on the forums if you search.

I will do my best to keep the list as updated as possible with people who have actually paid (as they are the only ones that are counted when it comes to applying discounts)

Thank you all!

It is unlikely that we will offer discounts on the mirror tilt module any time soon. As a newer, universal module, we are having a hard time keeping them in stock as it is.

The modules offered in this promotion is in fact the HR20 and the OT20.

Everyone,

Make sure you are purchasing the Ridgeline Window module from our site (HR-20). Do NOT purchase the HM-20 or you will NOT get the back window nor the discount.

If you did purchase the HM-20 we will adjust the price (+$10) when we give out the refunds.

shovelhd - Maybe you should spend more time reading other people's posts and less time sharing your opinions. The original message in this thread states...If you are only interested in a module IF we reach a certain discount level PLEASE EXPRESS THAT IN THIS THREAD. That way we can keep track of who is interested when we start to get close to the next level. I am sorry if the instructions were a little to difficult for you to understand, or maybe the task of manually pressing and holding the window buttons has just become too much for you. Whatever the reason(s), I do not appreciate your comment. I guess we can just add that to your ever growing number of useless posts.

To all the other ROC members I apologize in advance for my rant. I am just tired of members (especially certain Senior Members) criticizing other members. This IS a great website with a plethora of information and I truly enjoy being a member.

shovelhd - All is forgiven. I appreciate your reply and apologize for making you the target of my rant. I appreciate humor and sarcasm as much as the next guy. I just wanted to highlight the fact that some members are quite abusive in there posts. I take a few minutes almost every day to read the latest posts on the ROC, and I have noticed that we have a lot of members that like to belittle and criticize other members. Like I said, I truly enjoy the ROC, and I just hate to see that happen. Again, I am sorry for singling you out. Hindsight is 20/20, and I should have started a separate thread to vent my frustration rather than singling you out. It was just easier to respond to a negative post directed towards me, then to jump in and defend another member.

Wow, we've sold quite a bit of modules very quickly.

This has created an slight inventory issue, so it may take 2-3 days for your module to ship. All modules ship on a first come first serve basis and you will receive an automated Email once your product(s) ship.

I know a bunch of modules shipped out today, but our 'net was down earlier so the automated Emails will go out later tonight or tomrrow for todays shipments.

Keep the orders coming in and if you know someone that might be interested in either of these two modules shoot them a PM and let them know!

The shipping status has been updated for all shipped modules. If you haven't received a shipping confirmation then your product has not yet shipped.

Just so we are clear, absolutely NO discounts will be honored after the set group buy deadline! If you want these modules at this price you MUST order before midnight ESD on September 21st, 2007. That's roughly 7 days from now!!!

My idea is to go through this process, and when the tailgate guts are open and I get my head around how the mechanism works, I'm going to see if I can figure out how to do a disconnection design. I'd rather have that, too.

You guys are going to be really glad you got this module! Mine has helped to keep my RL and me dry on several occasions.

It was also nice to be able to periodically "air out" the truck during some of the rediculously hot days we had this summer, and be able to remotely close-up the windows when scattered storms were forecast.

The new rear window capability is tempting me to change-out my "1st generation" RL window mod, but I was wondering...

Kevin, is there any chance that you might include a "moonroof fully closed" capability to a future modification of the side windows/rear window module?

Is such an integration even possible?

It would be great to be able to use the remote to completely secure the RL.

KPierson

Pug,

We've upgraded a few modules in the past for a small fee, if you are intersted let me know. We basically just charge the difference in price ($10) plus shipping.

There will never be an integration with the moonroof off of the window module.

This is because the window module mounts in the door, and the sunroof wiring is inside the cabin. We don't recomend running wires from the cabin to the door, as it typically isn't an easy task, so we don't design modules that require this.

If there is enough interest in a remote sunroof close module we could come up with something.

Kevin,

My One Touch Sunroof module did not come with diodes. I found a post by bongus where he shows his installation using them. The directions also mention them.

I saw the note that they're not required, but then it's not crystal clear to me how to install it without them.

Should the diodes have come with the kit? If not, what are the specs so that I can get them?
If I get the diodes, will the vent function work as well?
If I should not use the diodes, can you give us some more explicit instructions on the wiring without the diodes?

Thanks

The diodes should have been included. We can send some replacement ones out, but they really arn't necesarry. To install the module without the diodes you simply tap each wire as instructed. You do NOT HAVE TO CUT ANY WIRES if you are not using the diodes (the big advantage, as many people don't want to cut wires). If you don't use the diodes the open and close will work fine, but to tilt you will still need to hold the button down.

If you want to pick up the diodes locally you can grab some 1n4001 diodes from radioshack for $0.69. You will cut the 'open' and 'close' wires and wire the diodes in line with the cut wires, with the 'stripe' on the diode facing the switch.

I hope this helps!

A few people have purchased the navi bypas for the RL but I've never heard any feedback from them. The modules may be installed and working or may be sitting on a shelf somewhere. I have absolutely no installation information for the module in a RL, but it may work.

To take advantage of this you MUST order through our website and put in the comments section "ROC 15% discount per KPierson".

We will then refund the difference.

Thank you all again,

Kevin

Cool, I'll get on this tomorrow (already late for bed!)...I have a question: Will the Window Module allow one-touch ALL windows down or up? Or does it merely facilitate remote windows up?

Thanks

This module only adds remote up capability.
I may be misunderstanding the question... but...
When I push the driver's side door-lock button twice in succession, all my windows go up... without using the remote.

Not exactly "one touch", but it's handy as hell! :)

Any update on when the final paypal adjustments will be made? My order was placed and paid for on Sep 19. Thanks.

Pug,

That only works when the ignition is off. If the vehicle is running the windows shouldn't respond to the interior door lock switches!

Yep.
Works before starting the truck. I never tried it while it was running. Thanks for the info, Kevin.

OK, the last of the refunds were issued today.

Most modules have shipped by now, I know of one that hasn't shipped because the check just came in the mail today.

So, for the most part, we're done here!

Thank you all and let me know if you need anything.

If there is enough interest to sell ~20 modules we would consider it. We are pretty busy right now and have a few other group buys to run, but we're always willing to offer discounts for bulk sales.

All I can say is that if we do do another group buy expect that the priceing will be simillar to prices offered in previous promotions. However, due to increases in shipping/materials the prices would most likely be a tad bit higher.

the group buy will work as follows:Paypal Info:
- Send payments to sales@boostedconcepts.com
- Please send in the retail amount!!
- Refunds will be issued for the difference between price levels as they are reached!!
- Module will be shipped when payment has cleared.
- Please include your name, screenname, address, phone number, the module or modules you are purchasing

so basically heres what happens

you send in the retail amount for the module. when that modules reaches the amount for the next lower level, a refund will be issued to you for the difference.

so for the window module you would send in $59.98. after 5 modules have been purchased a refund will be issued to you for $2.50, bringing the price down to $57.48. then after 10 have been purchased you will receive another refund for $5, bringing the price down to $52.48, and so on.

here is a question i had from g35driver

I have a question, I wanna buy the beep beep module w/relay and window up module. when i add the price here i get a total of $121.96 but when i add it on the kptechnologies.com i get a total of 101.97 with free shipping (combo pack). would u recommend i buy it directly off the website since i want 2 items? kptechnologies window module on their site is 49.99
beep beep module is 44.99
the relay for the beep beep module is 6.99
so the total would be 101.97

if you order through me the price is
window module is 59.98
beep beep module is 44.99
relay is 6.99
so the total would be 111.96

you only have to pay for shipping once if you are buying multiple items. the shipping cost is 9.99, so that is subtracted out of all other modules except for one of them.

granted this is still higher than the kptechnologies.com price, however, when more people start buyin modules, the price per module will fall. this does not happen if you order through kptechnologies.com.

once 5 modules have be reached, the difference will be refunded to you bringing down the price.

hopefully that answers your question. if not please let me know.
thanks

please let me know if anyone has any questions!!

no offense, but why can't we pay KPI directly. after reading a previous group buy i don't really feel comfortable sending money to a member with only 5 post. just as i would not ask others to send me money for a group buy. is there anyway we could have an older or more established user take the money?

hey no offense taken!!
you can not paypal KPTechnologies directly, because they are not offering the group buy.

you are not paypaling me, you are paypaling Boosted Concepts, LLC. Boosted Concepts is a authorized distributor for kptechnologies. they are a paypal verified, since october of 2005.

sure you can have another member take the money, but they would be paypaling it then to boosted concepts, and then the modules would not come directly to you from kptechnologies. also prices would go up because of the extra paypal fees. this would also defeat the group buy objective of the group buy being a buy now get now group buy, because you would then have to wait for everyone to send in their payments, then it would have to get sent to boosted concepts. then once boosted concepts received the payment, all the modules would go to the person that sent in the money, and then that person would have to mail them out to all of you guys.

the way this group buy is structured is a BUY NOW, GET NOW group buy, no wait time. when your payment is sent in, your address and email is sent kptechnologies. then your module is shipped directly from them to you, either same day or next day. when the module is shipped, you will receive an email from kptechnologies with a UPS tracking number.

I would like the window and sunroof modules -- I haven't had time to read a lot on this thread but does the sunroof and window module allow you to secure the Ridge from the key fob?
How much for both and who can I get to install? Can Honda put this in or ? I'm not keen on ripping my door apart -- I'm not too handy with the electrical stuff....
Any help would be appreciated.

hello

yes the price is the same upfront. when the group buy is over you will receive a refund in the amount of the difference between the retail price (which you paid) and the final pricing level.

this group buy is being run the exact same way, kpierson ran his group uy before. so as more people buy the cheaper the price will get.

right now we only have 1 person that has joined. i going to extend the group buy until the end of November, so we can get more people to join. so the final price will be lower for everyone!!

So if you dont get the total people you need the price doesnt change right?

Just curious because KP is charging 9.99 for shipping but they have an off for free shipping on any 2 modules. Thats a savings of 10 bucks. compared to teh 2.50 that we would save if 5 people bought them.

right but if we get 5 people it will go down.
if we get 10 it will go down further, and so on.

if you order more than one module, you only have to pay for shipping once. so you would subtract 9.99 from all of the modules that you are order, but one. yes if you order 2 from kptech you will get free shipping, but i can not do that because they are still charging me shipping of 9.99 on all orders. so if you order 1 or 5 modules, shipping still has to be paid one time.

hope that clears it up some. if not just let me know, ill try my best to answer it.

To be clear, pressing the lock button on the remote twice, same as setting the alarm, will close any open windows? I don't really need that, but it'll look really cool  so I'd use it. :p
Depending on price, and if it'll work on my '06, I'd be interested for sure.
