EBone 07-21-2005, 08:42 PM Just thought that I'd throw this out for a quick informal "roll call."
I've seen a connection in the past between Honda owners and Mac users (we already did a poll on this website on that).
How many Ridgeline owners are also TiVo-philes?
shovelhd 07-21-2005, 08:43 PM Tivo clone - SA Explorer 8000 HD DVR.
shingles 07-21-2005, 08:50 PM I use Tivo, but not an R-L owner yet.
Tiger 07-21-2005, 09:03 PM I use Tivo and am a Mac user as well.

methodtim 07-22-2005, 12:03 AM No on both accounts for me.
imaki 07-22-2005, 01:16 AM HD Tivo in the living room, DirecTivo in the bedroom, RL in the driveway.... no macs, but two ipods :)
pbear 07-22-2005, 03:37 AM No Tivo, but have a DVR and SBC DishNetwork video source.
shortspark 07-22-2005, 04:52 AM Directivo and all the high definition goodies.
Third year for my DirectTivo. Sony SAT-T60 hacked with 300 Gig drive for 287 hours record time, Ethernet Card, TivoWebPlus / FTP /Telnet accessable from the Internet, CallerID onscreen, and recordings downloadable for DVD burning or viewing in Windoze Media Player! Hows that for loaded!
Kellcut 07-22-2005, 05:57 AM Have directv Tivo (how did we live without it?) I find myself wanting to replay things on the radio or on other folks televisions that don't have TiVo. :)
We're most likely going to be getting a HDTV and upgrading our dish to HD as well as our TiVo receive to HD. Especially now that we have HOCKEY back :D
meanmachine19 07-22-2005, 06:06 AM Tivo owner! ( I taped the Superbowl just to watch the Ridgeline commercial!)
Tex's Ridge 07-22-2005, 07:35 AM Have the COX DVR with HD, and 42 inch Panasonic HD Plasma, with the Bose Surround system...beautifull!!! :D
Toobuku 07-22-2005, 08:27 AM Tivo/DVR with my plasma 42" in the livingroom. But I'm a windows PC user.
captmiddy 07-22-2005, 08:54 AM I have a Tivo (used to be 20 hr now is 98 or there abouts) series 1. I also have setup 2 MythTV boxes and use Linux on all my machines primarily (although they also have Windows). I have a Mac somewhere around but it is old and broken and too expensive to replace. We do own 2 iPods though so that should count. And it was either a MacMini or a Ridgeline, guess which won?
akatwn 07-22-2005, 09:59 AM Two genuine TiVo's here (Series 2 / 80 hr), former Mac user (miss my Mac big time, but unfortunately, my current work requires Windows), ipod coming soon... ;)
EBone 07-22-2005, 10:39 AM Pretty interesting. I find that a lot of Honda Owners are usually educated, well-informed and partial to high-tech stuff, which puts them in the same catagory as those who like computers (hence the popularity of this board) and high-tech gadgetry like TiVo.
Almost every time I see a white Apple logo decal on the back of someone's car, it's a Honda.
As for me, you can see by my signature I've been a Honda fan for quite a while. I've also got a Mac and a PC at home, along with an original Series 1 30 hour Sony TiVo hacked to 144 hours, a Toshiba TiVo/DVD 80 hour combo unit, and I just took advanatage of the free 40hour Series 2 TiVo offer (it was free so long as you pay for a year of service). I'll be ordering a 200 GB upgrade drive for it this weekend.
And yes, like Kellcut said, I find myself wishing I could do a 12-second rewind on friends' TVs, and especially in the car listening to the radio.
Fastrack 07-22-2005, 01:32 PM Add me to the list, HD DVR in the family room & bedroom. I also have a mini ipod and a 20 gig ipod. And to top it off i'm surfing the web right now on my 42inch plasma TV :D
bellteck 07-22-2005, 01:42 PM Tivo + 60" Plasma / 400 DVD / Bose System
Ditto on TiVo and Mac (Mac for my recording studio). ;)

Motoman 04-26-2006, 06:28 AM Guilty as charged.
Dragonslayer 04-26-2006, 07:51 AM Also guilty . I have an old apple powerbook, a G3 and a 400 gig G5 and COX DVR , I may also add 2 sony video cams and a sony mavica with floppy and a sony 8 meg F828 still which is the reason I went MAC the first time .
joeyknuckles 04-26-2006, 08:03 AM DVR from Insight cable. Mac-nope, I can get a pc to do more for less $$$. Mac was ahead of the game on vid/audio editing and some argue it still is. I edit both just fine on PC's. Bose -no, again, I can get my harmon-kardon/jbl/ininity stuff to do much much more for much much less, bose were ahead of the game for awhile, but no longer..I build some of my own amplifiers from scratch too, that is much cheaper still, but time consuming.
Ridgeline- will have it in about 8 hours!
Joe
joeyknuckles 04-26-2006, 08:05 AM ...oh, btw, if anyone happens to see any shows featuring the ridgeline coming up, maybe you could post it here so we can all tell our boxes to grab it!
:)
e_piph_a_ny 04-27-2006, 03:32 PM No Tivo but high def cable for my 46" wide screen home theater, no MAC but Dell desktop and IBM thinkpad on wireless broadband network.

In the scheme of things, just toys....
kanji 04-27-2006, 07:14 PM Well, i got my RL, to update my previous post. Also, upgraded my Media Center and sold the old one. My media center is similar to a tivo and computer all in one. Connected by 1000mb hardwire LAN and cable from adelphia.
SW_Mike 05-01-2006, 08:40 PM My wife's boss gave her a Tivo for Christmas. That dang gift cost me $300 to use! I do have to admit that I really do like it, though. Helps me keep up with the F1 season and not have to get up at 4am to watch the races live, or remember to set the VCR like I used to. :)
Wampass 06-11-2006, 08:12 AM Tivo, a Mac, 2 60GB Ipods, 1 2GB Nano, a Ridgeline and a partridge in a pear tree....
