twincam 09-20-2007, 07:46 AM Great pictures! Brings back some memories. I rode the whole length of the Blueridge 2 years ago on the Harley. What a great trip. Thanks for sharing.

Great time of the year to visit the southern portion. No crowds, more Harleys than cars, and not many of either. Color beginning to show and wild flowers in full bloom.
mdwalls 09-20-2007, 01:25 PM Blue Ridge. I get it ! :D
gastrohman 10-06-2007, 09:08 PM Great pics! Use to travel that road often when my inlaws lived in Gatlinburg. Always a fun drive.

I will probably do it again when the leaf watchers are out of the way and the Parkway is not iced in!!

Tcape 03-31-2008, 07:08 PM Love those pics of the Blue Ridge Parkway! I visit that area twice every year...spring and fall. 25 Year Honda Owner, you captured it perfectly. Great pics! I've added a few I've taken there over the years. These pics are from the Rough Ridge Trail, one of the prettiest hiking trails on the BRP. The trail name is very appropriate for a Ridgeline owner! :D

25 Year Honda Owner 03-31-2008, 07:48 PM You are on the opposite end from the area I like. My favorite is from the Waynesville exit off the Smokey Mountain Parkway to the Pissgah Inn. I have been as far North as Little Switzerland and got bored. Like your pictures, I will be going back in a few days, just have to be sure it is not socked in with clouds and fog!!!
FLA-Vyk 04-01-2008, 02:13 AM :) NC is some beautiful country, I was there during our Spring Break (03-10/14-08. Went to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee, Maggie Valley. Visited the Blue Ridge Parkway Museum and was told that could not drive it them because of storm damage the road.

A few years ago we were turned back due to ice and snow. This was in September!! The Western NC portion of the Blue Ridge and the Smokies have plant life and weather similar to Canada. You never know what to expect!!
25 Year Honda Owner 04-06-2008, 07:27 AM Caught this shot (1st pic) on the Forest Service webcam this morning. Other pics are from the same webcam, different seasons. This is Cold Mountain located just off the Pkwy in southwestern NC close to the Pisggah Inn.
Tcape 06-02-2008, 07:59 PM Some of my latest pics on the Blueridge Parkway. Geez, I sure do love that drive. These pics were taken from the overlook on the Beacon Heights Trail, just south of the Glen Cove Visitor's Center. The last pic is Linville Falls, the second deepest gorge in the US. (Grand Canyon is the deepest.)
OwnerCS 06-02-2008, 08:22 PM Thanks for sharing the GREAT pictures.
