OEM Tonneau Cover Tail Gate LOCK

hey everyone it’s my first post here I bought 08 ridgeline Nimbus gray Metallic few weeks ago and yesterday installed OEM Tonneau cover everything worked out but the tail gate lock doesn’t work when the gate is closed all the way like it should be if i just barley close it locks but then the gate is kinda half open i trying checking everything i could but could not find anything wrong with it and there’s no adjustment on latch or lock @ all please help

Help.. please.

I had to bend my bracket slightly to make it function properly. The lock is very chintzy, might keep the honest people out, but not much more than that.

thanx i'll try doing that C if it works i just wanted to C if it works i know if need 2 be it;s not as safe i it should be honda should have put it door lock type lock since they make U all that stuff to put in Tonneau cover.
