Thanks Mike xridgelinex 10-05-2007, 03:28 PM Yes.... Glue on some cardboard..... It's a trunk it is out of the eyes view.... Just kidding on the cardboard.... Cardboard will also leave marks.... Sorry I could not be of any real help... Truckin' 10-05-2007, 11:39 PM We just put some carpet samples up around the sides of ours. They'll be handy if we ever have to change a tire or get under the truck while we're out and about. X-Brawn 10-06-2007, 12:14 AM We just put some carpet samples up around the sides of ours. It sounds like you've seen some of the photos of family cars from my family in Arkansas and Texas. Carpet, on the exterior, as I've heard works wonders in preventing dents and dings. I heard that Saturn once considered it instead of composite panels. Truckin' 10-06-2007, 12:53 AM Oh, you silly goose. I meant we have them around the inside walls of our trunk, not the outside of the truck! Geez. X-Brawn 10-06-2007, 01:12 AM Oh, you silly goose. Altamont 10-06-2007, 10:12 AM I went to the store and got some of that rubberized mesh type stuff that goes into the bottom of the tool box drawers. I haven't attached it to the sides of the trunk but I use it to wrap around stuff when I put it in there, like my high lift jack etc. Ahab 10-06-2007, 11:49 AM Protect it from what? I carry all kinds of stuff in there. After two years I don't see any damage. Truckin' 10-06-2007, 10:31 PM You're correct Ahab (and 'Hi' to you, Val and the girls!) there is no damage and probably nothing that can be damaged in the trunk. I thought the carpet samples would keep things from rattling about and we can get all we want for free from our carpet laying brother. As an after thought we realized they might end up handy to throw down on hot pavement or rough ground, if need be. NorCalMike 10-07-2007, 10:50 AM Protect it from what? Right now I am doing the carpet routine. Maybe I could find some kind of rubber caps for the torsion bars. | |
