I have done some searching over the past week trying to decide if I want to go OEM or Aftermarket for Running Boards or Side steps. I have seen several posts that talk about the aftermarket options. My primary concern is I can't see these in real-life, only pictures.
I know RidgeDoc started a thread about the aftermarket and I viewed his pics. While I think they are a great deal for the money, They appear to not be as integrated with the truck as the OEM. Specifically, I can see that the braces are significantly lower than the running boards themselves.
OEM is obviously built specifically for the RL. And goven that I just dropped $25.4K on my RTL, I don't mind spending $350-400 for the OEM.
So I will throw it out to ROC members, which do you prefer?

OEM running boards for me !
Yep, same here. I like the looks of the OEM running boards from the get-go. While I like some of the side steps and some of them look really nice, I just thought the running boards give the truck a much more "finished" appearance, while some of the after-market running boards/side steps kinda looked "tacked on", for lack of a better word.
To each his own, I guess. All what looks good to you and what you wanna spend. If you are patient, you should be able to find the running boards/side steps on e-bay for a good price. I got my brand-spankin' new OEM running boards shipped to my house for just under $300. Took me about 3 months to get the deal I wanted but...as they say...good things come to those who wait! :)

Thanks all. I am going to take cdepuydt's advice and wait it out for the OEMs. If I can get them for $300 including shipping its a very easy decision:) If anyone where I can get the OEM running boards for $300 or below, please let me know.

Try ebay. I got mine from www.collegehillshonda.com thru ebay for just about $300. Now they have crept over $400. But keep an eye on ebay, you'll be suprised what you'll find.
