Have my accomodations for the Sedona 2008 meet possibly made...

Well, earlier this week I received a flyer/mailer for a dealership I've visited before soliciting a sales event they were having this weekend on used cars. Ironically, it was for a Toyota dealership. Inside of the mailer was a scratcher card for various give aways with the chance to win $7,500.

I scratched off and had three cherries. There was no indication to say WHAT I won but I went across town to see what it was. Well, I found out I had won a three day, two night, vacation to one of many destinations including Sedona! I have a year to use it and I hope (and plan) to set my accommodations 90 days in advance for the meet likely to one of the resorts in Sedona.

Excellent. We look forward to meeting you. We've got our reservations at the Sky Ranch Lodge on the mesa by the airport. This meet is so much fun that we're returning for the third year.

I'll also be at the Phoenix meet on November 3rd and I can't wait. It happens to be on my birthday!

Have fun. That's a nice way to celebrate. We'll be with you in spirit for this one and in person next April.

Pretty good deal! Be sure to book as early as they will allow! It starts to get busy in Sedona in the spring time.

Do you know which resort/location you are going to stay at? We can talk more about it at the Phoenix meet :p

I won't know about it until about 90 days before the meet, as that is the maximum amount of time I can book the "vacation" for three days and two nights.

We’re still contemplating towing our Trail Cruiser behind us and setting up camp at the RV resort we shared with Twintym and family since gas isn’t too much more than it was last time. We really enjoyed the meet last year and are planning a week long stay in the area this year making it a mini vacation.

We will tow the Airstream and join you. Do they have pull thru's?

It appears that they do have a few pull thru sites on the map but you may want to call them ahead for availability. This campground is really clean and close to everything in Sedona. Here is a link to their map; http://www.ranchosedona.com/pdf/map.pdf

Great to hear you're coming! I look forward to seeing you again. I can see we're going to have to visit the campground, but you might want to come up on top of the mesa too. We're springing for the Rim Rock cottage this year. :D

Ron, you mentioned making it a week long vacation this year. We're coming in on Thursday so we'll have all day Friday to play. Will your extra days all be after the meet? We'll be heading home from the Grand Canyon Sunday.

Last year Glen (are you coming again, Glen??) drove up early and acted as a fabulous tour guide for us and Ahab. We drove to Prescott and Jerome and had a lovely day. Maybe we could pull together another pre-event activity for all those who make it to Sedona early. Jerome was fun and I wouldn't mind going there again, but there are other places to explore too. Just gotta be dog friendly. That rules Red Rock State park out. They won't even let you drive in with a dog in your vehicle.

We’re not sure about the time frame yet. Cindy still needs to do a little juggling with the scheduling at her work.

I believe so! Don’t think they can camp with us because the twins have to be back in school soon after.

We'll be in Sedona this year. We made reservations yesterday at Sky Ranch Lodge. We're looking forward to it and so are the twins.

YIPPEE! We love the ranch! I'm excited to have the cottage on the rim. We've got to make it back early enough to enjoy the hot tub more than one of our nights' stay this year. It's by the pool, not a private one at the cottage, unfortunately. It's still very nice, in the garden areas between the units.

It will be a blast to have you on the mesa. I'm trying to get our new friends, Steve and Roxie, to come from Utah with us. Then we could caravan the way you Californians do!

I'm getting more excited each snowy day we have.

Email me with your unit number and the nights you'll be there. We're peeling off and heading home from the GC on Sunday.

Pam, I don't know our unit number but we will arrive Friday evening sometime, depending on when we take the girls out of school that day. It's about a 5 hour drive so we should be in no later than 8 PM. Hopefully, it will be more like 5-6 PM though. We are staying through Sunday's GC tour and driving home Monday morning. We can't wait.

Wow.

I have yet to confirm my accommodations while a lot of you are rarin' to go. I am, too, but I've been out of work for the past three weeks now due to gastric problems. They should all be worked out by April. I can't wait and even if I have to stay further away for cheaper, I'd do it.

Dan

Sounds like you'll be pulling in and finding out where to meet us for dinner. It will be fun, I'm sure. I liked both of the places Kevin lined up for our pre-meet dinners. Nic's was probably just a little nicer with that back room to ourselves.

I just added Thursday night to our Sky Ranch stay. The call reminded me that they don't give you your unit number until you arrive. The cottage is an exception because there are only two of them and they have different beds (1K & 2Q), so you know which one you get in advance. All the rest of the rooms are a bit of a musical room distribution.

XBraun, looking forward to meeting you this year!

Seeing how anxious everyone is about coming to Sedona....I will start a separate thread (with poll), and be posting additional information, etc.!

Anxious? A continuing pattern of snow and frigid temperatures since Christmas eve has me dreaming of your warm desert weather. April is not that far away. I think I might be able to hold on.

There are going to be three BLUE trucks up at Sky Ranch this year: Us, Pam and Dan, plus Wade and Gail. Does anyone else plan on staying on the mesa?
