So i decied to go with the skyjacker/mdx lift set up. I recieved it on wednsday and was going to tackle it on friday. First off if i was to do this over again i would start by opening the box and taking out the intructions, go to the closest bathroom and wipe my a$$ with them.

I started at 8pm with the drivers rear first, it was pretty easy disassemble everything and get the spacer bolted in. Reassembly on the other hand was one problem after another, nothing would line up no matter how much i tweaked, pushed, pulled, cussed and threw things. So at midnight i come to a realization i have a whole new problem, the driveshaft came unseated! Yeah breaking the band, peeling back the boot and geting it to reseat was a fun task! Thank god my girlfriend was here during this whole thing to help out, yeah shes that cool!! So at 3am i decied to pack it up for the night having finsihed nothing and the rear drivers still in peices!

At 8am i called a very good friend of mine to come bail me out. He didnt even look at the instructions, he took everything that i actualy got together back apart again and reassembled it in ways i didnt even think of. On the passenger rear he didnt even take apart half the things the instructions said was needed and we had that one knocked out in 30min. The front went just fine no problems at all we had it all done by 2pm.

Was it worth it? right now i say no, but thats because im angry about the problems i had. Im sure i will love those 2 extra inches this winter when im plowing through iowa snow.

I felt your pain!!! For those of you who decide to install your own lift, you can download better instructions from Truxxx.com. They are one of (3) makers of lift kits for the Ridgeline.

For starters, they tell you to remove the axle nuts on the CV axles. This allows you to slide the axles in and out of the hubs. This way, you won't pull the CV axles apart, trying to install the kit.

Thanks for the support! I still have to get the alignment done and the boot rebanded. i wont be able to do that for a couple weeks! I had to leave town today for business and wont get back untill the 2nd. Dont worry im not driving the ridge with a messed up boot, its sitting at home tucked away...i kinda miss it :( .

Next up on my list of ways to screw up my new truck...Firefighter lights!
