: Factory bed cover............
Well, I will be the first to sell on this.
I have a factory bed cover for sale. Installed in April, sell for 850.00 or make me a offer. It is in excellent shape and has all the parts for install.
My wife does not like it, we actually use the bed in our trucks and she feels confined with it on
STEVE FROST 07-28-2005, 03:08 PM Let your wife sit up front, she will feel less confined. It must get hot under that cover.
Good one Steve, I was thinking the same thing. :D
ridgeman 07-28-2005, 08:21 PM OR, you could just take the lid off the truck, throw in a little ice..... :D
Maybe I could throw some hail at her. Nah! It would dent her truck.
She really digs the trunk, rides in it all the time........ :)
Tex's Ridge 07-29-2005, 01:07 PM Get a room!!! By the way, what do you plan to do with all the holes drilled on all the panels?
I have already done it. Plastic plugs, they look like they belong.
bliss53 07-31-2005, 06:43 AM I would take it if you were closer and it was a little cheaper. Shipping would be huge to NH. What do you think.
Give me a zip. I have trucks coming to TX twice a week from Canada and I ship to Uxbridge MA every other week. Not sure if that is close but we can piggy back it on a order and cut freight way down.

Can you just believe the friends you find across the country in a simple little chat room where we were all strangers until we all decided to buy the same vehicle!!?? You're terrific JMT. ( but I bet you already know that!! ;) )
WOW...never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks for the props. I try to treat everyone fair.
bliss53 08-01-2005, 01:17 PM My zip is 03031. Thanks for checking it out. I also have an additional question. Are all the parts included or are there some parts that I will have to purchase because they were "one use" type items like trim fastners and grommets?

Way to go Ladyridge. Keep buttering him up we have not settled on a price yet. I agree this is a great group.
It looks like all of the mounting stuff is in a box and all the rails and hardware is accounted for. How about 900.00 total, shipped to you?
bliss53 08-02-2005, 07:32 AM I was looking for a lower price. I am able to get a new one about an hour away for $1,025. If you get to the point that you want to sell for around $700 let me know. Thanks again for looking into the shipping.
No problem...........The best i will do is 800.00 to you.
Tex's Ridge 08-02-2005, 09:08 AM This is fun to watch! :) My bet is on Bliss53 taking it!!

Tex,
This all your fault. I want it because I saw yours. I read that you have a new credit card. You could pitch in? I'm still thinking about preinstalled parts and my son's college tuition that is due this week.
Call me and we will finish up.

Common Pete, you know you'll love it!! So will your lovely daughter!
Seriously though, you may want to consider a body shop to install. It has a 15 page instructions sheet and took my Honda dealer 8 hours to install. All the bed side panels need to come off to drill new holes and oval holes for the new vents on the bed panel behind the cab. :)
bliss53 08-02-2005, 03:22 PM I got it. Tex, you are still responsible. I wonder what the vent holes in the front, over the foward part of the cover are for? Anybody know?

My guess is this vent holes are there to prevent the bed cavity, under the cover, from going into a vacuum. Call them breather holes. I may be wrong but cannot come up with another reasonable explanation. Also, don't know who to ask about them. :( Note: If you look for trucker thread on their trip to Canada, she shows a picture of their bags that got muddy and dirty. Why? because they did not install the seals that came with their Retrax cover. Evidence that a vacuum forms in the bed cavity, somehow, when the bed is covered. ;)

I have a theory regarding the vent holes. The cabin vents are under the front bed panel. I think that they equalize the pressure in the cabin when the fan or AC is on with the windows closed. If you seal up the bed cavity with the cover these cabin vents can not breathe, thus the drilled vent holes.
