:( Hi to all,

Today, my 2003 Honda Pilot got a not so nice spider web like design from not one but two projectiles one after the other from an unknown source on I-95 on the very same 20 mile trip. How lucky can one get. One was about the size of a fist and the other a V shaped cracked 4feet long.

I called 3 Honda dealerships for OEM pricing on a windshield. The lowest price was $500 from Odonell Honda in Maryland wouldn't recommend any of their past glass installers because they got burned from possibly past referals. All they would furnished me is the OEM windsheld.I have to find my own installer. The others priced me with labor around $800-850.

These are my question?

1. Is it a good idea to buy a windshield from say one of the merchants here and have a reputable glass installer install it? Would it be cheaper?

2. Anyone know of a reputable glass windshield installer here in Maryland.

Thans in advance for all your help and suggestions.

Is there anything I am missing about going to a auto glass shop.
Iam asking because I don't know about this subject when it comes to the entire windshield. I only have had a little chip repaired in my ACURA.
Is there a Banner auto glass on Rt 40 near the ACURA dealership & Odonell Honda? I think its on the same side of Rt 40 as Odonell not sure its been awhile since I have been over.

Just checked it out Odonell Honda address is 8620 Baltimore National Pike Ellicott City MD. Banner Glass if that location is still good is located 8726 Baltimore National Pike or Rt 40 Phone 410-750-0600. I don't know anything about that shop just know it was near Odonell Honda. The Banner Glass Shop in Silver Spring Md repaired the chip in my ACURA windshield.

Got a crack in my windshield I got right before the St. Louis meet and is now about a foot long. I plan to take it to a general windshield repair place which has been around for years and done great work for my family in the past. I would look at all options before just settling on your dealer.
