Mtnman 11-11-2007, 06:36 PM Been thinking about a place for a meet & greet in the future, that would have an automotive atmosphere.
I thought this might have possibilities. It's an indoor karting track with a bar & grill.
Maybe after New Years sometime aftere cabin fever set in. If we start thinking about it now hopefully we could get good turn out.
I know this is not any further south for some. But is kind of different.

Qxtreem 11-11-2007, 07:26 PM You know I'm in. I know you got some built up road rage you gotta take out on us :). I'll bring my helmet! :D
How 'bout that new I 355 stretch eh?
Brad
chisoxjim 11-12-2007, 06:50 AM Great Idea mtnman.
You know I am in.
johnk1 11-12-2007, 03:07 PM That is an awesome idea done it about 3 times in buffalo Grove and it is a blast. Are you aware of the cost? It's not cheap.
chisoxjim 11-12-2007, 03:14 PM It looks like it's$10 for a 1 month membership, and then $25 per race after that. I would probably run 1 race, and then adjourn to the bar area to eat and drink.
Perhaps if can actually get some Chicago area people to turn out for this event we could get in on a group rate. ;)
Mtnman 11-13-2007, 04:40 AM John is right this will most likely run a min. of $50.00. $35.00 for one race & license , plus food , drink , arcade and/or pool.
The min. group size is 8 drivers.
At least the engines are Honda's.:D
JonBoy 11-15-2007, 12:27 PM I had my Bachelor Party there... If you organize and get a certain number of people, I think they drop the membership fee and also discount the races...
If I remember right, if you guarantee a certain number of people, like 10, you can get a race package that includes like (3) races for $50 a person or something, you'll have to check it out on their web-site or contact them.
Either way, I'm in, and I'm sure I could get a couple of my buddy's to go to.
chisoxjim 12-18-2007, 10:33 AM Any more thoughts on this place, or somewhere else for a January meet?
I am up for the kart track idea, or anything.
chisoxjim 01-14-2008, 02:01 PM <bump>
lets put something together while the weather is still cold.
johnk1 01-14-2008, 04:38 PM Hey Jimmy, hope you and the fam. are doing well. I'm in but.... here we go with a date, place and time...
Mtnman 01-15-2008, 04:49 AM I'm up for it ,but not 2/9 or 2/17.
chisoxjim 01-15-2008, 06:28 AM johnk, mtnman,
good to hear from you guys.
My weekends are all open, and Saturdays work better for me.
MoosePond 01-15-2008, 06:57 AM There's a similar indoor track in Indianapolis where I attended an event during a trade show a few years ago - an absolute blast and you guys are gonna thoroughly enjoy yourselves! :D
Qxtreem 01-15-2008, 07:02 AM Hiya guys!! Hope you had a good holiday. Pull any cars out of the ditch with your RL? :-). I am ready to hang out as usual most anytime, and any day. Though, don't worry about my cabin fever, as I just got home from a Royal Carribean Cruise (1/6 - 1/13) ! Enjoy pics and few vids ( still Uploading ) on my Photobucket if you want. http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u212/Qxtreem/2008%20Family%20Cruise/

Brad
Ps ( you all better be there next time! )
chisoxjim 01-15-2008, 07:07 AM hey brad...
you weasel ;) , ducking out on our beautiful Chicago winter for a cruise.. I am jealous. Where did you go on the cruise? Jamaica..? :D
Qxtreem 01-15-2008, 07:16 AM LOLz I crashed but I was hopin Id see some jealousy before work! :p :p :p Hiya Jim! I went to San Juan Puerto Rico, St Thomas and St Marteen Virgin Islands as ports. Sorry not all pictures are marked. All I can say is you just have to go for yourselves! Before the trip I wasnt sure I wanted to go, leave my house, my pets, my Ridge! Now, I never wanted to come home!
Brad
chisoxjim 01-15-2008, 07:19 AM nice, I have always wanted to go to Puerto Rico.
you gotta hit Jamaica on your next cruise...
So what days are looking good for everyone, and are we talking January, or February? Also location? are we going to do the go karts?
I am open for any Saturday for the next couple of months(some Sundays' as well), and would do the go-karts, or some other type of gathering.
johnk1 01-15-2008, 01:32 PM I was in P.R. about 5 yrs. ago. I was in San Juan. It was fantastic. The weather was perfect and the people were very nice. I was bizarre as I was on a business trip that happen to be over St. Patrick's day. Being the loyal mick that I am I actually found a Irish bar called St. Mick's :D So I hoisted many to old St. Patrick in P.R.
Qxtreem 02-26-2008, 09:46 PM Hiya gang. So guess what, Its still a few months off but they are building a brand new Chicago Indoor Kart track in Addison, right next door to Dave and Busters where our last meet was. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?id=28102
How cool eh? even for me, beats goin way up north, of course unless you live up there, but Addison/ Schaumburg seems central to most of us.
Brad
chisoxjim 02-27-2008, 07:38 AM hey brad,
good to hear from you. I guess its been a long brutal winter for everyone, I havent seen anyone in a hurry to get together for a meet. I am in for any Saturday, anytime to get together with fellow ROC members, and bend an elbow, and have some fun.
Qxtreem 02-27-2008, 09:03 AM Hi Jim. Yes I am totally exhausted between snow removal of 22 houses and my painting business. Looks like 1 more snow day also. Like they say, keeps me out of trouble though.
I too am ready to hang out, anytime. I just cant think of what interest everyone. I am simple, good filling food and a tad bit of rum, unless we carpool and I dont drive , then alot of rum, but thats no fun for a Truck meet haha. light offroading would still be the best to me. Well, someone will think of something.
take care
Brad
johnk1 02-28-2008, 02:33 AM Hey gents. Just checking in as well. I'm up for a meet as well. Saturday is actually better for me so lets see if we could get a group togather:D
Mr Fix 03-05-2008, 12:32 PM Hey all,
If you are still planning a chicago meet, count me in. I've got to work this Saturday, but after that my Saturdays should be free for a while.
chisoxjim 03-05-2008, 02:26 PM Mr. Fix,
this latest gathering has been tough to get together. The two previous ones were pretty easy. I am thinking it is weather.
Perhaps once spring sets in on Chicago we can get this done.
oldcoastie 03-06-2008, 03:03 PM I'm not available the first weekend in May.
JonBoy 03-10-2008, 07:10 PM I'm in for a meet, not sure about karting...kinda low on $$.
Mtnman 03-11-2008, 02:45 AM We could try a southern Hooters for the ROCs to the south.
chisoxjim 03-11-2008, 06:18 AM We could try a southern Hooters for the ROCs to the south.
I like the way you think mtnman. :)
There is one in Joliet, and the Orland Park area I believe.
Mtnman 03-13-2008, 03:02 AM I like the way you think mtnman. :)
There is one in Joliet, and the Orland Park area I believe.
Thank You:D
oldcoastie 03-13-2008, 11:27 AM I think one of those Hooters may have been purchased by the owner of a Hooters in Washington, DC. We should be very, very careful........
