The menu is planned, the preparations have started and the G-Kids are getting antsy. Sheesh, it's like they never had a big meal before. The house will be noisy, the little ones will be running through the house from one end to the other, the older girls will be holed up in one of the bedrooms giggling with each other and us older boys will be in front of the TV watching the game.

You gotta love a family holiday! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope your day will be as much fun as mine! :)

We have our Thanksgiving in early October. That allows us to recover from overeating in time for Christmas festivities.;)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :)

A friend invited me to "experience" a Turducken meal.

I respectfully declined.

Anyone in the ROC ever tried one?

I think that is where a chicken is stuffed inside a duck, the duck is stuffed inside a Turkey and all are cooked at the same time?

With all due respect to Pizza Man, in my family Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners have always involved Grandma's homemade ravioli. (And no chintzy machine-made pasta either! :))

Hey, I'm figuring on one full tank to get from North Mississippi (where I am at the momento) back down to the Gulf Coast!

Paid $3.05/gallon for regular unleaded to top off this evening. Aimed SOUTH!

Here's a pic from the wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turducken)...

Interesting stuff(ing)! :p

Includes a 17 bird version!

We leave early in the morning for Stuart, Virginia to celebrate with my wife's folks. They are English so we will have Roast Beef, Potatoes, Swede & Carrots (turnips and carrots mashed w/ butter) & Yorkshire Pudding. All of the above will then be smothered with gravy. Scotch, wine, ale, and sherry will all freely flow. The game will be on and I will spend my afternoon arguing with my Father-in-law about the finer points of American Football vs. Cricket and Rugby while my children will be stuffed and spoiled by their Nana with English toffee and chocolates. I truely love the Hollidays!

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving my ROC Brothers and Sisters!:D

Or HAPPY TOFURKEY DAY! Yeah, I'm a vegetarian, but there are plenty of other things I eat that day!

One Thanksgiving my Mom made an ARABIC MEAL! And we aren't ARABIC! GAH! I really chewed her out (as much as I dared too) but still ate the food.

Mmmm, is the sauce spicy hot on a Lobster Pizza? Fra Diavolo style? Gotta try one. :)

Same here djeaux. Wedding soup, Ravioli couse, Main course, then the Salad followed by dessert. Truly, an all day feast.

I'll bet it's a few more than from Ma to Pa! Dinner starts around 2:00 PM, shovelhd! ;)

No, it's a white pizza with lots of fresh garlic, three cheeses, and chunks of fresh lobster. I add the crushed red pepper myself to taste. If you're in southern Maine sometime, try it. La Pizzaria, downtown Ogunquit.

Hey Pizzaman, I heard on the radio that TODAY is the busiest pizza day (35-200% more orders). How was your day??

Hi Kevin, the wife and I went to our local restaurant this evening. It's a regular Italian restaurant on one side and the other side is Pizza and steak sandwiches. They do one helluva take-out Pizza business on most days. This evening was crazy. I'd say there was at least a 50% increase compared to any normal Friday night.

It's not often you'll see the owner making pizza with the rest of the crew. Tonight he was in up to his elbows.

Had some friends over for dinner. Roast chicken, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, noddles, sweet potatoes, asparagus, cranberry sauce, hot rolls, and apple dumplings with butter pecan ice cream. Yummmmmmm. Time for a night cap of George Dickel and then a long winters nap.:) Hope all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
