Hello all. I've studied these forums pretty good trying to decide what direction I was gonna go in with the bass management in my soon to be RTX. I've found one box that I have not found mentioned anywhere on this forum. It appears to meet the overly narrow depth quota but I'm not sure if the width will pose an issue.
PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE BELOW PDF TO VIEW THE EXACT DIMENSIONS.
After looking at ChrisM custom box I see a seat belt retractor on the right side but what is located under the left raised area? Is there some kind of amplifier for the factory subwoofer located back there?
Here is a link to Pioneer's Boxes. They also have an underseat model.

I have a set of dimensions at home for the OEM sub box. If anything will kill this one it will be the length.............

If I remember correctly, the XM tuner is on the left.

Right, the XM tuner, and the bulkhead is anything but flat. Check my install thread.

your rite it is on the left side, to me its looks to long. Here a pix from my install hopes this help you out. Also I wanted to something like that but I just broke down and bought the subthump box and im glad I did. Worth every penny IMO. Cheers - Andy

Too big. Guaranteed. I installed the Pioneer flat sub (12") that fits in that box, and it was the hardest install I ever did. At the point there that diagonal reinforcing strut passes across the wall, I had to lay the fiberglass on the sub basically.

Could you run the left side, maybe 6-7 inches, through a table saw and then seal up that end of the box? You could match the factory width dimensions almost perfectly, while the box itself would be thinner.
If your truck does not have the XM tuner option that raised are will be empty, right?
HOUSTON HB, what kind of amps are those? Looks sweet.

Diamond Audio Amplifiers I love them to death, great units, 1ohm stable and the sound is just kick ass. Check them out here www.diamondaudio.com

Houston has Diamond D3, I have Diamond D6. Both are great amps.

1) Has anyone tried the box in this link:
Pioneer UD-SW10B Shallow subwoofer and Enclosure (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_11221/315329347UD-SW10B%20Dimensions.pdf)
2) It sure looks like it would fit, based on the below pictures and the dimensions in this post. (http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/mobile-electronics/13308-finally-ed-sq-10-behind-seat-install-completed-pics-box-comparison-shots.html#post183816) What do you think? The grill looks easy to take off in order to add depth clearance too.
3) What is that bracket thing above the XM receiver? Can it be removed to make room or is it structural?

I think that Pioneer box is way too wide to fit. The back panel of the RL is not flat so the 5 inches or so of depth available is not available for the full width of the Pioneer box.

Thanks. I see that now.
I also found out that thing I asked about is the rear window motor. I don't want to lose that.
