I am installing new speakers front and rear and done want to have to go through the doors or connectors or anything. I would like to just run the power from my amps, and tap into the factory harness heading OUT to the speakers and disconnect that harness completely.
Thanks.

There is no seperate amplifier in the RL. Four (or five if you have a factory sub) outputs drive the speakers directly.

...Directly from the headunit

So what electronic device is in the passenger kick panel?
Does the head unit cross over the tweets/mids up front as well?
I would just put my crossover for my component set in the door, so would only need to know the woofer wires to hook up to behind the dash. Tweeter will mount in the sail panel.
Anyone have a schematic to share with me what wires these are?
Thanks!

I don't know what that unit is. May have nothing to do with audio.
The headunit doesn't crossover anything. The factory tweeters have a high pass filter (single capacitor) mounted at the tweeter itself. The door speakers run full range.
You may want to consider using the factory wiring in the doors unless you want to run new wire. Running new wires to the driver's side door is difficult. Search for "door speaker wiring" or simlar to see how some have done it.

That's the VTM-4 control unit. Be real careful around it.
I'm not a big fan of using the factory speaker wiring with components. It's a shortcut that's more trouble than it's worth. Do it the right way and run new wires.

What do you mean careful? I have RCAs and speaker wires running past it. Is that OK?

Sure, just be careful running wires around the control wiring. You don't want to nick them or pinch them. I have quite a few wires in that area but took care to route them away from the unit.

Is that the VTM-4 or the ECU? in either case ruin either one of those and you will be up the creek, EXPENSIVE to replace

Like I said, it's the VTM-4 control unit. That's what it says in my factory repair manual.

Um ok......

You'll be in bigger trouble if you have to pull one of the branch harnesses. ECU's (or VTM4 ECU) can at least be popped and replaced. Wiring harnesses...hope you've got your octopus on cause you're gonna be slinking around the dash for awhile.
If you gotta run wires into the drivers door it's a freaking ball if you've never done it before. If you have, it's still about 2 hours of your life you'll never get back - but the OE wiring is not sufficient (IMO) for amplified signals pre (passive) crossover.
But I'm here to try and make your life a little easier if you decide to go that course. Mind you I was installing security wiring too, so there are more holes here then you need- but here are the pin bays I used (attached).
The harness on the door side (receptacle) is an RTL harness and the chassis side (plug) is an RTS (don't ask ;) ).
The door molex's on the ridge are pretty easy if you have a set of extended pick tools or similar.
If you want better/different/bigger pics drop me a pm, I took a few when I was installing a few items recently.
