I replaced the Honda OEM Ballmount that came with my 08 Ridgeline with a Reese 2X2 Ballmount with a 3 1/2" drop to level my Rance Aluminum 7X12 V-nose bike trailer. Got the trailer level but the ballmount is really loose in the receiver. Anybody have any advice? Thanks.
I have heard that Reese's stated size is not the actual 2x2 measurement, but slightly smaller.
If you can, go measure it.

I have the stock Honda tow kit and was having a problem with the ball mount being VERY noisy going down the road. I purchased an anti-rattle device from etrailer.com and it solved the problem. I did have to modify it somewhat due to the hitch's weld points. Basically, I just ground down the width of the anti-rattle until it fit. But, there are lots of things out there like this that help with noisy towing.
Good luck!!

I went the sinple route. I took electrical tape and wrapped it around the post before I slid it into the receiver. No noise and is nice and tight.
As usual, the simpler the solution, the better it works.

I have the Curt hitch and it seemed loose too. I too used the high tech electrical tape method - works fine!:D
